I watched a lot of Fairfield games... he could shoot it but don't see a fit here at UCONN at all.

Did Andre guard Kolek last season?

I was at two of the games last season but I cannot recall how much time Andre spent on Kolek or how well he did individually (the 1-2 record would dictate that UConn was not sucessful in stopping him) - I would have thought Andre would have been able to cut the head off the snake, or at least...

    Jaden Ross? MIA

I think a line-up of Hass, Ross, Ball, Stewart, Johnson is a tournament team. I hope we get to see them together all next year

    Who can beat them?

which let them get those open corner 3s which were killer

    Corey Floyd Jr. Vs us

Typically, this season Floyd has been known for his D, last night I thought our guards were seeking him. When he was trying to guard Steph, Steph scored, when he was on Newton, Newton usually drove right by him and typically drew a foul. Even Cam seemed to get most of his (missed) shots when...

Clingan / draw up Oduro foul #5?

i wanted Newton to drive at him more, but it all worked out in the end

    Donny Marshall

I want so badly to like Donny, he is not as bad in other, non UConn games. But he is a train wreck when it comes to calling the Huskies.

    Pick a surprising stat

    3. Diarra is shooting 40% from 3. He has really improved from last year. I love Hass's improvement this season!

No Kadary Richmond for SH Tonight

PC has had more games to get used to no Hopkins, they were terrible the first few games he missed as well.

    Andre Jackson, Jr.

I hope Doc utilizes him often and well and helps Andre's NBA career to blossom.

    Clingan impact on defense demonstrated!

Dixon always scares me the most on that team. Neptune is no Jay Wright!

    Clingan impact on defense demonstrated!

Can anyone explain why Neptune took Dixon out for most of the time Clingan was in (especially in the first half). One would think that Dixon's ability to shoot would have opened up the lane a little more (it did in the 2nd). Clingan was able to just park in the pain and not respect Ware's...

Anyone else notice this similarity to last year

Um... Tristen is an excellent rebounding guard, but I would put Castle about 2 notches higher into the elite category for rebounding.

    13 Regular Season Games Left.

Nova @ only a 6% chance to win BE is wild to me. I don't think they will win the conference, but I think they have a chance.

    13 Regular Season Games Left.

If games are played like this past one, with fewer fouls committed (and fewer holds missed) and less of a wrestling match vibe - UCONN can win a lot more games. The games that will be crap shoots are the away rock fights against physical teams that don't get whistled when they hold our cutters...

    DePaul Post Game Thread

I really like Karaban at the 5 against the zone D. He can flex to the free-throw line or obviously provide another outside shooter and it lets Castle play at the free-throw line or then in closer to the rim instead of being in the corner at times. Newton, Spencer, Ball, Castle, Karaban is a...

    Gonzaga Post Game Thread

Agreed, I would have liked to see more Solo on him, he did fine in the few possessions when he switched on. There was one sequence at the end of the first half when Solo was guarding Nembhard, the ball was out of play, Danny looked to bench about to put Hassan in and the camera was on Kimani...

Vecenie Mailbag UConn Draft Talk (Clingan, Newton, small bit of Castle)

Was Cam even on the NBA draft radar while at Rutgers? I know one of the reasons for his transfer to Storrs was to get those looks, and being surrounded by NBA talent at UConn has certainly done that based upon what I have read about the scouts at practices etc. It would be a great case study...

    Solo breakout

Different players for sure but just thinking about what Solo is providing vs what Hawkins was doing in his first 10 games of his freshman year, I see big things coming in the future for Solo!

    Kansas Scouting Report

I think Ball will still start but Diarra will have more minutes assuming he can stay out of foul trouble. Some of his quick handed reaches will probably get whistled at Kansas, all the more reason to have Ball start off on Harris as well.

yea I was watching Cam tonight and really like him offensively, but he is looked a little slow fighting through screens and on switches. He will be on the 3rd guard option for most nights, but I hope it was just an off night for him.

Castle's on ball D and recovery agility was super impressive. AJ will be missed but Steph has the ability to be a shutdown defender - no doubt. I'm just hoping Cam can defend up to Hawkins level - Jordan played some underrated great D down the national championship stretch.
