Turnovers aside, it felt like we scored at will when Oduro was in. Mostly on the FT line.

Edit: in the last few minutes

We were mostly running PnR with Newton driving with a head of steam at Oduro and forcing him to choose to defend Newton and risk drawing a 5th or give up lob to Clingan. He usually chose Clingan and forced his guards to try and get back in front and stop Newton. Newton drew like 4 fouls on these.

Then they started having Oduro hedge to stop the penetration, but that left the boards wide open since Oduro was so far from the hoop.

We could have attacked with our guards a little more.
He was being pretty stingy with help defense to try to avoid the fifth foul, but it also allowed our guards to get into the lane pretty much at will in the end. Spencer in particular took full advantage.

How come Hurley didn’t feed Clingan the ball to draw Oduro’s 5th foul?
Oduro absolutely schooled DC last night. A 5 who can draw DC away from the basket and shoot is part of the recipe to beating this team. Im sure DH will figure it out. Of course DC doesnt have his legs fully under him yet.

I was really, really impressed with Oduro. He has a nice touch and was really effective in the post against guys who were 2-5 inches bigger. He committed some dumb fouls that really helped us.

Oduro is decent, but he played out of his mind last night. Those jump hooks over Clingan are like 30% shots and he made 3/4 or whatever.

It was the 1-2 dribble drive that killed Cling Kong. He's gotta be better than that.

Given the way the game was being officiated, you think DH had the confidence a foul would be called, as you do?
Exactly, and they may have called offensive on clingan

He outplayed DC and had him out of position. I think the play is not to chase Oduro because it opens up the ability for guards to just penetrate and not get contested and swallowed up DC.

He had plenty of rest time last night. They need to sit him after 1 foul, because the 2nd comes quick.

Good thing we have Alex K to cover in the middle. Tommy Heinsoin II. Great players.
When DC went out was fist bumping his head for good reason.
