I just received the email - called the ticket office. UConn has Sections 119-125. She said they have the full section in 125, and then the "upper parts of the other sections", whatever that means. She did not know how they will allocate the tickets in terms of who gets what seats, but safe assumption closer to half court will go to those with higher priority points and filter down.

Closer to half court won't really be the case. Those sections are the end zone sections behind one of the hoops.

That's not true. 114-118 is end zone behind the hoops.

Our section starts at corner and goes to 3 point line/closer to half court.

you got it right. I spend winters in Houston. Double tix dump has started with Houston and TX out. We travel well. Miami travel$ well. Can't even guess on FAU. SD state...probably. There are tickets out there to be had and i believe some panic selling is a bout to start.
I flinched… was concerned about all the UT alum driving prices so I bought line when UT was up 12 in the 2nd half against Miami…

That's about the cost of plane tix from BDL now too. First time I've really been in a position to afford making the trip, but is no one else thinking flight prices are absurd? I'm still down to pay, but every single friend has dropped out because it's $1500ish round trip
Not for nothing but there is $350 RT on Frontier from BDL leaving Friday night overnight (connecting in Vegas) and coming back Tuesday available. Substantially cheaper than the $1700

This is the best deal I have seen for a downtown Houston hotel. It is $299/night on Priceline and you can cancel up until 3/31 if something better comes up. King beds only though. It is rated 4.6 / 5 on Google reviews. Previous posts state that most of the activity is in the downtown area outside of the games.

Just remember that you have separate charges normally for luggage in Frontier . Fine with me but wife incurs extra charges for all the stuff she normally takes

Does anyone know if UConn is done sending emails and if full allotment is sold out or will they open it to all?

Posted in the other thread too but- going into BPT or CLL is a 90 min uber but can save $400+ on flights and transportation even factoring that in

Can someone who has been to a final four before give advice on what level to buy tickets? Is the pitch of the 100 level sections enough that if you’re in a farther back row you can still see? Or is it better to be up in a 300 level section for better visibility?

I live in Houston & will be there, I was there in 2011 in Houston too. Took my son who was not even one year old at the time… now he’a 12 and has turned into a maniac fan like his dad.
Tell him to get loud....you too.

I would not stay near the stadium. There’s very little around it in terms of good restaurants and bars and it’s not the safest. Wouldn’t say it’s overly dangerous, just not where you want to be when not at the games. And the hotels there are limited and not the greatest. If you’re beholden to a hotel try to stay downtown (expensive) or Gallaria area. If you’re open to an Airbnb, stay in the Heights, Montrose, EADO (within 2 miles of downtown) or near Rice. I live in Houston.
Thanks!

I was in Houston in 2011. We were nearly at the top of a 100 level and the pitch was ok.

In Phoenix in 09 it was more of a problem.

Just to be clear, 2004 was in San Antonio. Houston is 3 hours from Austin. But your point is a good one. Look at neighboring towns.

I lived in Denver in 2011 and took my son who was 12 then
He became a huge Kemba and UConn fan and we are going back this year as well!

Where is the gathering on Friday evening?

Final Four veterans know the 2 center sections on both sides go to all the BB coaches who are attending the NABC annual meeting that always is held at the FF. The FF teams' seats are on either side of the coaches sections.
