Time for everybody to take a few steps away from the ledge? That was a nice end to the weekend. About time Atlanta came down to earth a little bit.
I wasn't on the ledge. I knew a slide was inevitable for us and hope we got it out of our system; and I figured Atlanta would have to cool down at least a little.

Loved the move at the time, but Ruf has been awful. Doubt he even makes the postseason roster at this point

What about this.

Postseason lineup with Escobar at 3b, Guillorme at 2b, Cahna in LF, McNeil at DH. Vogelbach and the RH platoon out the window. Infield D is gold everywhere. Lineup will have the opposing pitcher at 90 pitches in the 3rd.

That's my preferred lineup now, just swap McNeil and Escobar. I think that's what we see starting Saturday when Marte is back

It's time Vientos gets his ABs. Honestly, I would start Vientos for the next 4 or 5 games at DH against righties and lefties, just to get him some ABs. He can't be worse than Ruf and Vogelbach have been lately. It's time to see if he can be a contributor for the postseason.

I'm feeling like we're going to get a special outing from Jake tonight.

Tonight would be the perfect time to start a winning streak. The Braves have Odorizzi (who's been shaky) going against Rodon on Wednesday, so we could get lucky and see the Giants take 2 of 3 here.

Going into the Braves series with the division lead would be monumental. One win there gets us the tiebreaker so essentially that would extend our division lead by a game.

Hopefully the last 2 weeks is the wake-up call this team needed that they can't just coast through the regular season. Lots of reinforcements coming this weekend too which is nice. Obviously the division is still the goal but magic number of 10 with 19 games to go for a playoff spot

Not a fan of Peterson out of the pen, either; but also not a fan of Rodriguez or Claudio. I'd prefer using Lugo as the first preference in those spots, but I suppose we need to keep at least one of those three, which is where Eppler's failure to land another lefty really hurts us.

Prefer Peterson to Joely, but I doubt either makes the postseason roster anyway in the bullpen. deGrom, Scherzer, Bassitt, Walker as the SPs. Diaz, Ottavino, Lugo, Megill, Carrasco, Givens, May all feel like locks in the bullpen. Which leaves 1 spot and I'd be much more confident with Trevor Williams or Drew Smith there than any of the lefties

And it looks like you might have a healthy ace...
Yeah, it was good to see Max return in top form, but just having him back in the clubhouse and dugout makes a huge difference in attitude with this team. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Mets stumbled each time he left for rehab starts. The players all describe his winning attitude as "contagious," and I was happy to see Steve Gelbs confirm last night that Scherzer--on the days he is not pitching--has had almost as big of an overall impact on the team as Buck.

Alonso and Lindor with two huge swings tonight. Can the Braves just lose one game?

I'm not concerned. I believe that when we need to win to close it out? We have the guys (and coach) to do it.

I’m not concerned about the Mets. But if they go 8-4 the rest of the way that might not be enough. The Phillies need to actually earn their way into the postseason by beating the Braves a few times.
