Basketball- Calvin Murphy
Football- Steve Young
Baseball- Jeff Bagwell
Boxing- Willie Pep
Hockey- Brian Leetch

Young, Bagwell, and Leetch weren’t born in CT. We probably need some rules on “from” cause I think all 3 would easily qualify. Hockey would probably be Drury or Quick if we go with born.

Who gives a s^^^ where they were born, they are all from CT. They lived in CT. their whole lives and never picked up a football, bat, or hockey stick in any of those other states. You think North Carolina people are saying but Jordan was born in Brooklyn?

Hey I agree both with the from part and your selections. I was just going off the debate in the thread.

He went to high school in CT. Isn't that what should count?

If Palmer has stayed at St Joes would you have counted him? That would’ve felt more like a hired gun.

Connecticut has a great history of small guards (around 6 feet and under) in addition to Calvin Murphy and they are all some of the greatest in Connecticut history. They include Wes Matthews, John Bagley, Michael Adams and Rod Foster. I'm sure I'm missing some others.

I wasn’t around for Murphy but I know he was so good they had to show his high school games on closed circuit in the auditorium because so many people came to watch him play!

And what about John Starks?? Didn’t the Knicks “bag” him up at a grocery store in Milford?
