I could see Deshields trying to leverage her staying to Warlick to save Cooper's behind and when Cooper ends up getting canned by the DC Deshields leaves too. Deshields is a selfish team player she's like the girl version of Rajon Rondo.

Besides playing overseas DD could always transfer as a 5th year grad student to any school she wanted and play right away. Not suggesting she would do it but if she decided to play with her BFF for Dawn the exploding heads in Knoxville would register 5 on the Richter scale.

Just checked in on VolNation. There are some serious tremors underway relative to DD's rumored departure.

This might be better than her staying. Her best friend on the team got tossed and while it's just speculation it might be that Cooper was lured into the fight. Was it just a coincidence that a team member was ready to record the incident? And if so DeShields might not have the fondest of thoughts about that team mate. The upcoming year would be a nightmare as far as team chemistry, especially with 4 freshmen there.

IMO, despite her elite skills and athleticism, she was a moody diva that needed the ball in her hands to be effective. Russell would have been a much more damaging loss. The team can now circle the wagons and Holly can instill an "us against the world" mentality.

The SEC does not allow intra-conference graduate transfers unless the student-athlete has two years of eligibility remaining and then would still have to sit out a year. So, spending a graduate transfer year at South Carolina is not an option for Diamond.
