Israeli league articles should be available by 5pm ET on Mondays (and Thursdays when they have games). In addition to former UConn and current WNBA players, you can also look at the site for updates on people like Ketia Swanier and Barbara Turner.

Thanks.
Chong's 15 pts, 7 asts and 2 rebs in 35:25 mins just awesome ...
In those first 2 games Saniya has played the most minutes in her team.

Saniya Chong has been named Dallas Wings Overseas Player of the Week for the week of October 10-16, after an outstanding performance with Elitzur Maclaren Holon this past week. The 5-8 guard made her grand debut overseas recording a historical game of 39 points in 39 minutes, along with five assists and one blocked shot.

Chong is one of three rookies from the Dallas Wings playing overseas this year. Her next game with team Elitzur Maclaren Holon will take place on October 23.

K---Did I read this correctly?? Did Saniya get 39 points in 39 minute???? My heart is still jumping around from reading this.

Kiah Always had that in her, she came to UConn as an Iowa Scorer---She, Chong, and one or two---are my favorites in the W or overseas--thanks 10,000 (I'm short this week or it would have been a million) for posting and finding this. Great K.

Well..it certainly appears that Saniya has blossomed. A late bloomer to be sure. I can't tell you how happy I am for Saniya. Lord knows she paid her dues, and endured all the challenges that life at UConn threw at her.

Who saw Saniya making a WNBA roster at anytime during her first three years at UConn? It's nice to see her have the success she's having at the next level.

Thirty nine points is nothing to scoff at. I'm very pleased to hear of her success in her foray overseas. I hope to hear more reports like in the weeks and months to come. Please keep these reports coming.

Never doubted her...

Holon played its seventh game of the season last week, beating Hertzeliya 75-56. They're now 5-2 and if I understand the article correctly in a 4 way tie in first place. Saniya scored 19 w/ 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Like the Huskies Holon out- assisted its opponent by a wide margin (21-8) Here's a link http://www.eurobasket.com/boxScores/Israel/2017/1127_7781_7710.asp?women=1

Saniya's averaging 21.1 ppg, in the top 10 in the league.

15 pts, 3 reb, 8 assists tonight in a victory over Brittney Sykes and Hapoel Petah Tikva. Elitzur Maclaren Holon is now in sole possession of first place.

Evidently Saniya still understands winning. ; )

MH -- Shae Kelley, forward who played briefly (a year or so?) for the Lynx; graduated from Minnesota 3-4 years ago.

I'm a little slow tonight--who is Kelley?

Shae Kelley was an athletic wing (6-0 or 6'1) that transferred to Minnesota. Saw her in the B1g and she was a good one. First Team all conference in her 1 and only season there. I dont remember where she transferred from. Old Dominion maybe and I think a JUCO before then. Could be wrong.

Pretty sure the she was drafted by the Lynx too. Maybe for a season.

Edit:

It was ODU and she was a grad transfer. Interesting read. Didn't realize she actually started at Colorado.

After many different transfers, Shae Kelley feels at home in Minnesota - ISN

Holon is now 9-3 and tied for first place. They play the team they are tied with on Christmas Day. Saniya is #4 in the league in both points (19.2 ppg) scored and assists (4.9 apg)

B.Yehuda - Elitzur Holon 69-72

Ninth-ranked B.Yehuda (2-9) gave a tough game to first ranked Elitzur Holon (8-3) in Tel Aviv on Monday. The visitors from Holon managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for American swingman Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import point guard Saniya Chong (173-94, college: Connecticut) helped adding 18 points and 9 assists. American forward Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and international Lev Tal (179-97) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Elitzur Holon and five B.Yehuda players scored in double figures. Elitzur Holon maintains first place with 8-3 record, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Newly promoted B.Yehuda keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Elitzur Holon is looking forward to face Ramat Hasharon (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. B.Yehuda will play against Elitzur Ramla and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Top scorers:
Elitzur Holon: S.Chong 18+2reb+9as
t, A.Anderson 17+5reb+2ast, C.Bradford 16+14reb+4ast, N.Shalom 13+4reb+1ast, L.Peleg 6+4reb+4ast, N.Zelivanski 2+2reb
B.Yehuda: L.Tal 17+8reb+2ast, S.Holmes 15+7reb+7ast, M.Dayan 13+4reb+1ast, C.Knox 12+1reb+1ast, T.Manuel 10+6reb+3ast, S.Levy 2

Elitzur Holon - Ramat Hasharon 81-76

Leader Elitzur Holon delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Ramat Hasharon (6-6) 81-76. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for swingman Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU, agency: Two Points) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Shae Kelley(185-91, college: Minnesota) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Alex Harden (180-93, college: Wichita St.) added 18 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ramat Hasharon. Four Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. Elitzur Holon maintains first position with 9-3 record, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Ramat Hasharon at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Elitzur Holon will play against league's second-placed Maccabi Ashdod at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ramat Hasharon will play against Elitzur Ramla (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Top scorers:
Elitzur Holon: C.Bradford 26+15reb+3ast, A.Anderson 26+1reb+4ast, S.Chong 19+6reb+5ast, N.Zelivanski 7+3ast, N.Shalom 3+1reb+2ast, I.Geva 0

After her inaugural season as a professional, I'd say that Chong can finally unpack her bags with confidence, knowing she's here to stay. She's certainly making a name for herself overseas, and will undoubtedly return for her second season in the W with a renewed sense of confidence and comfort. She's not a rookie anymore. She knows she can play at this level. That fact alone should allow her to be more productive and put up greater numbers in 2018.

Saniya gets credit for all her hard work of course, but this success is a big feather in Geno's cap.

Some boneyarders are wondering how this year's team isn't so much better than last year's. I think some don't really appreciate how much UConn lost with Saniya's graduation. She was drafted into the WNBA, made the team, and contributed significantly. Now she's in the top 5 in points and assists in her international league. I'd say losing her to graduation is pretty significant.

Edited to add, I didn’t mean to make light of losing Natalie Butler, who is making her mark on the NCAAW.

Thanks, Pride. Bradford as well as Chong with another really impressive game.

It looks like four games left in the regular season; they should get a high seed for the second stage.
