This is the first time that I have seen Maryland's Ashley Owusu, She scored 18 in her Maryland debut and has solid stats, especially for a freshman, She is not your prototypical point guard with respect to height (6'0") and size. However, she will push the ball in transition. A very skilled ball handler.

Mikesell is running the point now for Maryland with Owusu on the bench. Difficult to determine who Frese is unhappiest with right now. Mikesell is 0/2 and h.as 4 turnovers.

Frese is sipping a tough tincture of reality today . Her team is fairly (marginally?) talented, but not playing tough road games (again this year as it is every year) doesn't help identify strengths, weaknesses, leaders, and go to players, nor does it build character or mental toughness. It also doesn't allow the team to work out difficult circumstances on the court.

They called Pulliam a "volume shooter" and that is a correct statement. However, she does elevate nicely on her jumper and opposing defenses need to stay away from fouling her on her jumper.

Maryland has scored 38 points with 8 minutes remaining. Northwestern leads by 24 in a rout.

Is Charles really a first round WNBA pick? I haven't seen her shoot effectively outside the paint.
