I've basically lost track of all of the options and where we theorhetically stand in the pecking order at this point. I just can't wait until it settles out. And In Hurley I Trust.

We’ve been missing one of these tough 6’5/6’6 220 pound guard pieces for a while. I remember playing Tulsa last year who had a couple of them thinking my god this looks like their men vs our boys. It’s good to have this piece we can play him anywhere 2-4, he toughens up the entire team, he gives us some of what we lost in steal/boards/3s with CV, he’s from NYC so he’ll fit in well with Hurley, Kimani, Taliek and the team. Sign me up.

Has anyone actually watched games of his? MAAC to Big East is a big jump.
This is what I was saying. I went to Fairfield and used to watch MAAC games a lot. The level of competition is no where near what the NBE is. It doesn't even compare to the American. Not necessarily saying its not a possibility he could perform, but its def not a sure thing his game will translate.

The looming transfer rule and covid 19 situation is having a huge impact on recruiting. The transfer rule seemed like it was going to be passed through, now there seems to be a lot of uncertainty. Not sure it’s worth waiting to find out, I’m not confident in anything that the NCAA will do or how long it may take. Don’t love the idea of taking a player that will have to sit for a year.
A lot of people talking about how covid19 affects recruiting. Although it definitely does, the good coaches will be able to use it to their advantage. Can't forget that everyone is effected by the pandemic the same way.

Kelly was second team all-MAAC and he’s playing in the ACC. This kid was a unanimous first team selection.

Also don’t believe Sid is leaving. We woulda probably seen by now. His social media doesn’t make it seem like he is. That’s gold though, I want him around.
Respectfully disagree. He could be here, or not. I'm less confident that we woulda probably seen what his future looks like.

^^ Thats who I thought, but didn't understand the reference. We will see if his game translates but BC is definitely a lower echelon program and I doubt he will be any good. I remember seeing that kid play at Fairfield Prep.

Looks like a good player though I’ve never seen any of his games. Nolley is the best of these transfers but if hurley thinks Nolley might be leaning elsewhere, let’s get this guy. Big, athletic, dunks, rebounds well and from New York..sounds like good uconn player qualities

Vs p6 comp over 3 years.

Providence -- 7/3/0, 3 TO, 0 STL, 1 BLK. 3/6 FG. 1/1 3FG. 0/0 FT.
PSU -- 16/7/0 2TO, 1 STL, 0 BLK. 6/9 FG. 2/5 3FG. ⅔ FT.
Oregon -- 25/6/2 0 TO, 2 STL, 3 BLK. 11/21 FG. ¼ 3FG. ⅔ FT.
UCF -- 14/5/0 1 TO 0 STL 0 BLK 6/9 FG. ½ 3FG. ¼ FT
WVU -- 11/8/3 2 TO 4 STL 1 BLK 4/11 FG ⅓ 3FG ⅔ FT
ASU -- 8/10/0 6 TO 0 STL 1 BLK 3/8FG 0/3 3FG ⅔ FT
Temple -- 11/10/0 4 TO 1 STL 1 BLK 5/15 FG 1/3 3FG 0/0 FT
Wiscy -- 7/8/2 3 TO 0 STL 1 BLK 3/8 FG 0/1 3FG ½ FT

Average:

12.4 PTS
7.1 REB
0.9 AST
2.6 TO
1.0 STL
1.0 BLK
47% FG
32% 3FG (2.8 attempts per)
56% FT (2.5 attempts per)

Don't love the AST and TO numbers. But he would be a great addition regardless. We need tough, physical defenders.
56% FT?

Assuming the transfer rule changes, would players like Nolley and Murphy be turned off by the addition of an established big guard? Lots of competition for playing time in this scenario.
Can’t assume the rule change anymore. The pro change momentum totally died once they pushed the date back. Most people on other boards seem to believe the rule will NOT change now. At least not this year.

We are in good shape with Vaughn. Not saying it is sealed but the staff think they will land him.

Do you know if they still expect to go after Nolley/Murphy if he commits? Seems to me like it was a two-scholly situation with Nolley/Murphy being one and Vaughn/Martin/Burton being the other. But I also may be reading that wrong

I clicked on his ig post and realized he’s “friends” with some people from East Hartford, windsor, Hartford that are in the local basketball community. Not uconn guys but there is apparently some Connecticut connection.
