There was literally no one in the upper end zone across from the students. If you can't sell out vs the number 1 team in the nation coming off a huge road win on nationally TV it's time to stop pretending you belong in a major conference.

AAU! Doesn't matter if you've never had a competitive basketball program and are barely removed from being also-rans in football. Not to mention how much everyone from NYC supports RU.

The economy is in dire straights. TV audience is what really matters.

We have a great fan base - just watch ESPN Classic or SNY's replays of old Big East games. Something happened in the mid 2000's where our attendance fell off of a cliff -

It was called Laptop-gate. Closely followed by Miles-gate and APR-gate. Many ticket buyers were turned off.

+ bad economy, rising ticket prices, priority points moving long time fans back, people stopped going to both men's and women's games (opting for 1) and an overall piss poor game day experience save for the product on the court. Yes, people want to be entertained, the band and music and cheerleaders and Jonathan should all be more involved and weed out the commercials.

Bringing in quality OOC competition and weeding out the nauseating games against some of the weakest teams in the country would help.

An upgrade in concessions and full service bars with TV's would help.

and last but not least, we're spoiled.

Having said all that, I'm always there with my friends and family

You're the one saying shame. The original assertion that got you ticked off was "casual fan".

It's called sarcasm...

I don't think it's right to call someone a casual fan simply because he chooses be in live attendance when there are so many other ways to watch and support the team.

BINGO! UConn got a reputation as a rogue program even among some of its own fans. No NCAA tournament this year simply is frosting on the cake.
