It is hard to make much of a case that West Simsbury isn't boring. Simsbury in general is pretty boring...LOL

The big murder investigation has been high profile though.

If you scroll down they list New London as their least boring city, and Jewett City and Thompsonville in the Top 10.

Clearly software needs double-checking, at least the eye test.

I am dumber for having read this.... Westport is a lot of things, but boring??? On the shore, lots of dining options, and so on.. Bridgeport exciting, yeah I guess not knowing if you'll be a crime victim..

Saw some nice free concerts outdoors there this summer. Sherwood Island is nice, and they've added some events there as well.

Bridgeport should be number one IMO. There is absolutely nothing to do there and downtown is a ghost land after 6pm! Eating out is not exciting and that is the only entertainment availible. Went to newly opened Bass Pro Shops yesterday, and the amount of foot traffic there proved that the City is starving. I do think they have the some of the nicest parks in the State, as Seaside Park is one of the best in the Country and Beardsley Park is on a river creek, but has a zoo.

Sad that its the largest city in CT. Crime ain't as bad in the public areas, just don't make the wrong turn or by a soda in the wrong neighborhood at night. Not much different than many other cities in America.

the black rock section of Bridgeport is second to only new haven for live entertainment options in Ct. Downtown is dead I agree, but black rock hops.

The article is fine, for what it is, a paper thin look at a few demographics. If they renamed it best places to be single, or best party scene or something, it would be less lame. The placement of New London at the top of the list and Jewett City, shows it to be completely detached from reality.

Lived in Essex for six months - boring as hell.
North Haven is a fast highway ride from New Haven.
Jewett City should be in rural Alabama.
New London should be the crown jewel of the state. It ain't. You can get out of New London by car, ferry, train and plane( Groton airport). And nuclear submarine. There is a reason for this.

Yeah criteria is more about "Places most likely to find an older family" rather than boring/interesting. Should've included bars/restaurants/nightlife per capita, etc and only one age related item, instead of like 6.

Small towns are boring. Essex is a beautiful boring small town, Connecticut is full of them.

I can't say its anymore boring than any other small town, but Winsted may be about as crappy as CT gets. I grew up very close to it. It's like a poor man's Willimantic.
