- When it comes to # powerful points made.. ÷ ..# Boneyard Posts,.. nobody beats Olde Coach’s slugging percentage.

-Get well and come back soon, OC. We need you, Sir! Its only September, and we’re almost down to guessing each other's heights here!

I ski at Burke coupla times a week, the Academy is going great guns with the US woman's slalom champ a June graduate.
The best trail is appropriately called "Warren's Way."

Avid golfers out there probably know about the Leadbetter Golf Academy for high school kids who want to make that sport a career. Girls and boys....elite ones....spend 1/2 their time there with academics and the other 1/2 with golf. Scholarships and pro careers follow for many of them. But Leadbetter is a Johnny Come Lately compared to Warren. Burke Mt. Academy was started by OC 40-45 years ago and has consistently turned out world class skiers. I would wager Burke's academics outclass any similar academy too.

I know precious little about skiing but Warren has tipped me off to current Burke student...Mikkalea Shiffrin [sp?]...one of the best [if not the best] slalom skiers in the world.
Look for her in February in the 2014 Olympics. Warren has compared her to our very own Maya Moore in terms of ability and in terms of character....can't get a higher recommendation.
At 17...a gold medal coming?

I spoke with OC this evening when he called me after our misconnection earlier in the week. His on the way to healing but had a stroke as part of the illness. He walked 75 steps today and his speech was good and his mind was clear. These are all great signs. He is heading to a rehab specific unit tomorrow.

He is a bit overwhelmed by the many moving communications and well wishes he has had from folks who have heard of his health issues. We'll be talking again later. Maybe tomorrow after he moves. He had a very close call.

He sends thanks for all the thoughts and prayers from everyone.

I told OC that I would print out and send to him this thread and our thoughts since he is presently without computer.

I have accomplished the editing and printing of the thread and will send it out tomorrow.

I will gladly add anything folks want to add between now and the morning.

Thanks to all for your many kind thoughts and good wishes.

There are no Boneyarders more excited about this season than I. -----

Our present group of Huskies are going to be more fun to watch and cheer for than any other team since 1985, which is when I discovered Jenn Rizzotti and
her hustling band of "Geno-ballers."

And the Boneyard has certainly enriched the whole experience of being a women's basketball fan.

Thanks again to all for your friendship and support.

Great to see you now feel strong enough to deal with this loveable band of mad idiots again.
