Been nice if we only had one thread as if knowing all along this was the final outcome.

Zags, Goodman and Woj are always the first to spread UConn speculation. But for some reason their tweet fingers are a little slower with good UConn news
Well FartMan and BigErn have told us that it's nothing personal, so it must be nothing personal.

Lol reporters say ollie is considering leaving, they get flamed. Reporters say he's staying, it's like gospel. Where's the double standard?

But......

Exactly. When we lost to Yale, they were the first ones to tweet about how we sucked. When we won three in a row in the AAC tourney, not a word was said.

I think he means that's how Wojnarowski, Goodman and Zags will spin it. They were clearly making it out that their sources had Ollie as the top guy, now they will just say bad sources or Ollie was never seriously considered.
You may be right about how the "reporters" will spin it. However, I don't believe that's what CMB meant by writing "...he wasn't their first choice." Clearly "their" is referring to OKC. Regardless though...it now leaves NO doubt about KO's intentions. It's great news for all UConn fans and any player presently connected with UConn or considering being a part of the program in the future!

The best part about this post is that even you have no idea if it's true or not.

Why does he have to withdraw if he already stated he was not interested in another job. Is he just telling OKC to leave him alone, he's not taking it, before they offer it to him

Exactly! He already told everyone that he wasnt going anywhere, but you see even on this site people are still stressing out. So now he is telling everyone for a second time and telling both the media and OKC I am not interested in the OKC head coaching job. So basically they may be considering him, but he is removing himself from their consideration... He's not interested... Since last time his words were twisted to mean he is not pursing OKC but maybe he'd be ok with OKC pursuing him.

Gotta love Zagoria retweeting a tweet proclaiming him as the basketball insider who broke the story of the Thunder having interest in KO, and Zagoria believing he will be the next coach....only to have Rothstein tweet that KO has pulled himself out of consideration for the job minutes later.

Is a public tweet really a source? Talk about yesterday's news. JJ even had time to write a column on it.

http://www.koco.com/thunder/kevin-ollie-to-thunder-basketball-insider-thinks-so/32520572 Zags, should maybe give up on this whole basketball insider thing. He retweets his bogus scoop and on the top of the page is Rothstein's story. Ouch

He should of done this from the beginning. All this does is hurt our recruiting and it is bad enough without this going on.
It was obvious from his original statement he made yesterday at 9:00 AM. Three reporters tried to create something out of nothing. Either they had sources as they claim with bad intel or they fabricated the whole thing.

You can't convince people what they want to believe that they are wrong. And people can and do take advantage of this. KO is not the guilty party in this. Not by a long shot.

The OKC job was open for one damn day
Yeah but Ollie should publicly say he's not interested in every job, open or not. For instance, how do we know he's not angling for the Celtics?

I was catching up on my twitter timeline, saw the Zags retweet and then the Rothstein tweet immediately afterwards, just embarrassing. I said yesterday he was going to wind up with egg on his face because he was going too hard, and that's exactly what happened.

Absolute radio silence about this on Twitter. Zagoria, Goodman, Woj etc. have yet to ackowledge Rothstein's tweet.
