What are people's thoughts about Texas and Ohio State? I think the guard match ups could be entertaining considering how Harmon and Harris can be pests on defence defense.
...and don't forget the Audrey Warren flops.... :D

@DefenseBB - I'm from Canada. We don't spell defence with an "s".

"Defence and defense are different spellings of the same word. Defense is preferred in American English, and defence is preferred in all other main varieties of English, including Australian, British, and Canadian English. The spelling distinction extends to most derivatives of defence/defense, including defences/defenses and defenceless/defenseless. But the words defensive, defensiveness, and defensively have an s everywhere."

Trying to decide if I should wear a Duke shirt or an Iowa State shirt to the game tonight... I guess I could always change between sessions. ;)

Go Cyclones.

Teams Attendance stats for 2022
SC (12,268 per game) vs NC (2,136) while the on court version has improved for Banghart, the attendance version has a lot of work to do...

Iowa St (9,567) vs. Creighton (2,543) if both Iowa schools can draw fans, Blue Jay Nation needs to step up and support this team....

Stanford (2,550) vs. Maryland (5,115) as stated numerous times, why doesn't one of the top 3 programs in the history of the sport have better attendance? Yes, UConn and Tennessee are ahead of them with 30+years of NCAAT success (sorry SC/Baylor/ND you need some more years of success).

Texas (3,523) vs. Ohio State (3,274) wow is this most even matchup of the group. Still underwhelming for two programs with a good history....

Louisville (8,361) vs. Tennessee (7,477) one program is growing (Cardinals) the other is falling on the attendance ranking. Since 2013 with 11,390 per game, the Lady Vols have been losing attendance at an alarming rate.

Michigan (3,676) vs. South Dakota (1,983) a bit surprising on both as I would have thought each would be higher-the size of Michigan would dictate students going and what else is there to do in SD in the winter? Heck if Iowa can turn out, why can't SD?

NC State (4,704) vs. Notre Dame (5,005) second closest matchup of teams fans. ND has fallen hard in attendance the past few years but I expect a rebound as the team is now better. NC State may see a drop off after this year.

UConn (8,892) vs. Indiana (4,726) pits the Annual top 5 program in attendance, vs. an up and comer who has steadily increased their attendance each of the last 4 years!

You have to take account of arena size in these numbers - example:
Iowa St home arena 14,267 so they get 67% capacity vs Creighton home arena 2,950 86% capcity.

This will be true for regional sites as well:
Bridgeport capacity: 9,000
Greensboro: 23,500
Wichita: 15,004
Spokane: 12,210

While I would be surprised if any but Bridgeport have a sell out, it is possible that one or more of the other regions would exceed the max 9,000 at Bridgeport

Spokane is a hoops crazy city, I wouldn't be surprised to see a good turn out there. Plus the Hull twins are from the area, so Stanford should get some good local support.

Two notes on Greensboro.... A few years ago they replaced the hard seats with wider and soft seats.. Reducing the the capacity to about 22,000. For women's basketball, they bring down the black curtain over the upper seating.. Reducing capacity to about 11,500. For the 1999 regionals there was enough demand for them to raise the curtains a bit.

Spokane arena holds 14,000. Looks like there are only ~20 seats in lower level on sale directly from the arena. 3 of the upper level sections are sold out. I would guess at least 2/3rds of the seats are sold.
According to the arena site the capacity in Spokane is Basketball: 11,736

The Tar Heels outshooting SC 47% to 34% and not really threatening. SC with 23 offensive boards. The Tarheels have 30 rebounds total.

Thanks for the catch. Will be interesting to what attendance is. I'd guess at least 7500-8000. Only a few seats empty on lower level and I could see some fans in the upper level during the Texas-Ohio State game.

Good for Spokane, especially early on a Friday. I was expecting a relatively empty house.

Surprised at the lack of fans in Greensboro, but guessing it will be packed on Sunday.

It seems like a good crowd in here... No idea how it looks on TV. The way different arenas are built in terms of seat layout can affect how it looks on tv. I'd estimate probably around 8,000 or so.

In prior years.. They would start the regional final at noon on Sunday. This year.. The final here will be 7pm. That's gonna lessen the attendance of the SC fans who have to work on Monday morning.

Rory Harmon reminds me of Brooke McCarty.
Brooke was a better 3 point shooter, and relied on a float shot. She did not have the silky smooth stop-and-pop game which Harmon is so good at.
