Ran across this Flynn article from early May AAU action.

Allie Ziebell – 2024 – 6-0 – Guard – WI Flight Elite 17 EYBL – UConn commit is looking to have one more magical run on the circuit this summer…Primed for it to happen…Just finishes lay ups so well, even with big rim protectors in her face…Uses her body and length to get open…The feel for the game, handles, and shooting ability make her a tough assignment for any defender

Morgan Cheli – 2024 – 6-2 – Wing/Forward – Cal Stars 17 EYBL – UConn commit put on a show to open the EYBL season…Battles for boards…Tough to the rack but also crafty and finesse to score it…Spin move into the jumper is bonkers good…Double-doubles all weekend

Aaliyah Chavez – 2025 – 5-10 – Point Guard – CyFair Elite 17 EYBL – Yet another standout performance at Boo, and she still gets another one after this…She’s grown and gotten stronger in the upper body, which only makes her more dangerous if possible…All the attention coming all summer is warranted

Sydney Douglas – 2028 – 6-5 – Forward – Cal Storm Team Taurasi 17 EYBL – Starting on the 17 EYBL circuit as a 7th grader…Impressive ball skills for size and age, going coast to coast a bit and handling and passing on the perimeter with either hand…Hit the three…Not afraid to get physical and mix it up inside with elite older players either

Jayla Jordyn Jackson – 2026 – 6-1 – Wing – Team Takeover 17 EYBL – Just top level across the board…Physical maturity and skill set that surpasses her age by far…Really impressed on the boards and garnered several tip drill put backs…Stroke on the shot is compact and fluid…Impressive consistently at the highest level

Jerzy Robinson – 2026 – 6-1 – Guard – Why Not Premier 17 EYBL – Just a freak athlete, skilled and wise to the game well beyond her years…Guards the other team’s best player regardless of position…Quick trigger on the three…So poised and mature…Special is the word

Zania Socka – 2024 – 6-4 – Forward – Team Durant 17 EYBL – Built like a wing but standing at 6’4…Gaining lots of traction of not going unnoticed…Bouncy…Brought it up on her own off of a rebound and scored the floater coast to coast…Just continues to get better

Kennedy Umeh – 2024 – 6-4 – Post – Philly Rise 17 EYBL – Just a monster…See her euro stepping and hitting face up jumpers at her size is so impressive and has been for years…Primed for a fantastic last summer

Olivia Vukosa – 2026 – 6-4 – Forward – Philly Rise 16 EYBL – Fun to watch her grow up out on the court…Continues to take over games and just make plays on offense and defense…Comes in clutch down the stretch and in big moments…Stat stuffer and highly skilled

Another Flynn take on the U16. He was impressed with Kelis Fisher, mentioning her twice.

That’s impressive. Flynn doesn’t usually like kids that are going to UConn

The national pursuit of Sydney Douglas is going to be frantic. When is the last time you saw a 6-5 kid in 7th grade do this stuff at age 12? Maybe B. Stewart?

Now we are talking about a kid who might enter a bit of Stewie territory if she develops more of a varied offensive arsenal..........I was about to comment that she doesn't put a lot of arc on her jump shots and then I realized that's because she's almost shooting even with the basket.......great use of the glass too............sadly bank shots seem to be a fading art.......

Point Guard (3): Kelis Fisher,5'8-2025, Lanie Grant,5'9-2025, Maddyn Greenway,5'8-2026

Guard (7): Jacy Abii,6'1-2026, Addison Bjorn,6'1-2026, Aaliyah Crump,6'1-2025, Marcayla Johnson,6'0-2025, Keziah Lofton,6'0-2025, Jerzy Robinson,6'1-2026, Hailee Swain,5'9-2025

Wing (5): Darriana Alexander,6'1-2025, Amayah Garcia,5'11-2026, Jayla Jordyn Jackson,6'1-2026, Trinity Jones,6'1-2026, Isabella Ragone, 6'2-2026

Forward (3): Lola Lampley,6'2-2026, Jordyn Palmer,6'1-2027, McKenna Woliczko,6'2-2026

PF & C (4): Kelsi Andrews,6'3-2026, Sydney Douglas,6'5-2028, Oliviah Edwards,6'3-2026, Alexandra Eschmeyer,6'5-2025

The first cut has been made, and it's a drastic one, with 22 players left from the original 53. We now know that, of the 55 players invited, three did not take part in the selection: Olivia Vukosa (2026, probably a knee injury), Sanai Green (2026) and above all Keeley Parks #6 ESPN class 2025, but in reality the #2 available, given that 7 of the top 10 in class 2025 were born before January 1, 2007. One player was added, but she didn't make the first cut. Vukosa and Parks had excellent chances of making the team.

That leaves 8 players in the 2025 class, 12 in the 2026 class, 1 in the 2027 class and 1 in the 2028 class. I've done the exercise of placing them by position, as you can see above. On the list of invited players, among the 55 there was only one whose indicated position was PG, Rieyan DeSouze, and she was removed, so I did some research and entered my results as you can see above.

Of the players on the ESPN 2025 Ranking, 11 were invited, 7 are still listed and another for a total of 8 from the 2025 class, Alexandra Eschmeyer was not on their Ranking. As for the 2026 class, 25 have been invited and the 12 retained from this class so far were all on their Ranking.

In Mike Flyn's (Blue Star) latest article yesterday, he named 4 players who should be the core of this team, all from the 2026 class, Jacy Abii, Oliviah Edwards, Trinity Jones and Jerzi Robinson. In Shane Laflin's article of April 10 at the time of the ESPN Ranking up date, he named from the 2026 Watch List the 5 who will be first in the next June up date and only Jerzi Robinson among the group of 4 named by Mike Flyn is part of Shane Laflin's (ESPN) 5, who are also still on the list apart from Vukosa who is probably injured. The Class of 2026 therefore appears to be rich in talent. If they're right, this year's squad could be one of the youngest since the U16 category began in 2009.

Some insider stuff from the U16 trials, mainly on apparent UConn POI Oliviyah Edwards:

Olivia Edwards, a 2026 forward from Tacoma, Washington, had a similar epiphany early on in the trials. At home she’s a forward who plays on the perimeter, the high post, and is one whose versatility gives her endless potential. But here she had one major advantage and she was able to pounce on it to the point she’s is a favorite to make the team.

...

Edwards being willing to take a weakness and turn it into a strength has been a major storyline at the trials.

“These girls really know how to move their body weight around,” Edwards said. “I’m still new to that. Where I’m from I play more of the four, the three or four, so moving their body weight around I want to learn to do that.”

And Edwards did just that. She is one of the most imposing players here, physically. Her focus on being more assertive and aggressive in and around the basket made a huge difference.

I do but it’s not a topic for this thread
I followed his Twitter back when I had it and he loved Azzi..and also seemed to be team Azzi for UConn long before she committed. Not sure where this is coming from?

If a recruit has Uconn in their final list without ever visiting, I automatically assume they are not coming here.
