VFLFan - nice post. The biggest question for me re TN is how it all comes together. TN has had a lot of talent the past number of years but both offensively and defensively it hasn't been much of a team effort. This year with DD may be the most talented TN team since Parker, but whether the defense plays good help, and how well the offense flows verses individual play will be what determines just how far they go. DD as a freshman was not a great 'team' player - will Holly be able to harness that great talent into a smooth offensive system and get the same commitment on the defensive end? Should be interesting to watch it all unfold!

VolFan:

The scoring you lost has to fall on Mercedes & DD, [Cooper ?] to start
They have to get there first then they will add to tenn offence

Oh okay you are talking about the upcoming season. I thought you were saying that USF gave them the closet game last season. I agree USF will be tough. They are getting used to playing UConn just as ND did in the Big East. USF and UConn will probably play each other at least three times. Of course that also means UConn will have a good handle on what USF does.

For what it's worth, Katie Lou may end up being better than Stewart. She seems to be much more mobile, but still creates the mismatch with her size. Her shot also looks a lot more refined and she can create for herself. If she develops more toughness around the rim, she'll be unstoppable.
Volfan - hope you are on the right track with this prediction, but it is a stretch. Key question for me--Where does rebounding, blocks, and being tough as nails (head banging with Rutgers, etc.) and the clincher---------staying injury free; fit into your equation? A few posters mentioned that Lou is nicked-up quite a bit. Someone mentioned she had every appendage bandaged for a few games. Lou seems to push through those ailments, but are they an obstacle to "best ever" status?

Breanna Stewart may end up being the best player in women's basketball history. Katie Lou will be a great player, a possible first or second team all-american, but lets be honest, as good as Katie Lou is she will never be as good as Breanna. There is only one Breanna Stewart and a player like her doesn't come along very often.
