LOL. The Big East has an odd number of teams. Every set of games one Big East team will not have a conference game scheduled, and this late in the season very few teams are looking OOC for a game. So when you say "this shouldn't happen in the thick of the season ..." the only rational analysis is we shouldn't have an odd number of teams in the conference.

I like it better than last year's front-loaded schedule which had us play the whole conference season in a hole.

But the point was is that one Big East team has to have a week off every week. And that happens to be UConn this week.

Sir, there are 2 games per week. But there are 11 teams. So every team will have a time when there isn't an opponent available, unless we want to schedule our own non conference game.
This just happens to be our week where all 10 of the others are playing and we dont have a team to play. It's just the way the math works out.
