NaLyssa Smith is one of the best athletes I've ever seen in the college game. She's got an outstanding motor and she's developed a more versatile offensive game. She's very ready for the next level.

You could tell how special she was going to be as a freshman, she has done nothing but improve every year in college. A very very very special player. Baylor will miss her dearly next year (assuming she leaves as the top pick in the draft)

(Games for Thursday through Sunday to be posted soon.)
NAU Lumberjacks end the regular season with home games tipping at 6pm March 2 (Eastern Washington) and March 4 (streaking Idaho, winners of 5 straight).

NAU, Idaho and Sac State are tied in conference (10-8) and battling for the 5th and final bye headed into the championship tournament. Sac State faces the Montana schools at home. Assuming NAU takes care of business against Eastern Washington that last game of the season against Idaho might well determine the fifth seed and coveted bye.

@triaddukefan congrats on your Panthers' big win over Charleston Southern, keeping alive their Big South Tournament unbeaten streak, dating back how many years now?

But what happened to "your Aggies"?

First day of Big South action.... the first 3 games the higher seeds won. In the nightcap, #11 seed UNC-Asheville.... losers of 12 of their last 13 ... stun the #6 seeded NC A&T Aggies (my aggies) :( The Bulldogs jumped on them early, and although the Aggies closed it to within 3 pts in the 4th... the Bulldogs went on a run to close out the game. I honestly thought that A&T was gonna make it to the semis at least. But in the Big South, you have to show up to play EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, or else. The color analyst was remarking about how the Aggies were more talented... as individually talented as any squad in the conference, they weren't there as a team. I'd forgotten that they had 10 new players this year... and the chemistry never really developed, On to the Colonial.

As I remarked earlier, this is the first year that the Big South Tournament is being held at a neutral site. The men's and women's tournament is being held at the same time. So on the women's side... they don't play again until Thursday, then Saturday, and the championship game is Sunday Night.

HPU hasnt lost in the tournament since 2019... an impressive streak if I say so myself. They have a tough matchup on Thursday vs Gardner Webb, a team that won both matchups this season.

Up until the Baylor/Iowa State game I hadn't watched Baylor play this year. I was very impressed! I like the combo of NaLyssa Smith and Queen Egbo. They will give most teams fits in the tournament.

It's a shame she couldn't get more talent there.

As Geno has said (paraphrasing), there are two kinds of coaches: the ones who recruit well, and the ones who get fired. It really was her undoing. I was rooting for coach Fahey to do well but she got nowhere in five years.

Freshman guard Adalia McKenzie was rated decently highly and has a promising future IMO. Curious to see if she stays at Illinois.

Yeah, she's been their #2 scorer. Their top scorer, sophomore Aaliyah Nye, also showed a lot of improvement from last year. Fahey just wasn't able to get enough quality forwards and posts IMO.

Anybody watching this Clemson Syracuse game? They were reviewing a possible flagrant foul on Syracuse., but they won't show the replay here at the arena. #15 was down on the ground in pain, I wonder if she caught a elbow to her upper body/head.

Clemson moves on to face VPI. Washington for the tigers had 33 pts. Syracuse fought hard, but ran out of steam in the 4th quarter.

Now it's time for the fun to begin.

I tell ya, Rutgers had a mostly miserable season including a 10-game losing streak, but they've now won 4 of their last 6 games, and they recently gave Ohio State and Iowa close games. Getting Shug Dickson back has seemed to really help them a lot.

Huskies went toe to toe w/ Colorado...until the last 2 minutes. Another cruddy year is mercifully over. I'm sick and tired of losing. 5 years is long enough.
