I know that it's not listed yet, but Louisville plays at Notre Dame on Sunday. Ten of us are making the trip to South Bend. Our group's ACC road record is 2-1. We haven't traveled in the last three years. We have wins at North Carolina and UVA and a loss at Duke. Looking forward to moving to 3-1 on Sunday.

On the Division 3 level the conference tournaments have already started. In the USA South Conference, the quarterfinals are set for Tuesday.. A huge quarterfinal takes place as the NC Wesleyan Battling Bishops visit the Greensboro College Pride. The Pride are the hottest WBB team in North Carolina as they are on a 17 game winning streak. The Pride is led by first year coach Heather Macy (formally of East Carolina) .Despite a 24-1 record.. they are the 2 seed in the Eastern Division on the basis of losing a coin flip with Southern Virginia University, as they split their regular season matchup. You can truly throw out the record books when the Battling Bishops play the Pride on any athletic field/court. Nothing like some good Methodist on Methodist battles.

As an aside, there are some interesting mascots in the USA South Conference. You have the Battling Bishops, the Avenging Angels, and the Fighting Squirrels in the eastern division. In the western division you have two pair of Scots.. as well as the Scotties  I think its a law that any Presbyterian college has a Scottish mascot. You may remember that the Blue Hose of Presbyterian mascot is Scotty the Scot.

At home, in a one point decision, Idaho overcomes a 13 point deficit and upsets Montana. Junior Beyonce Bea hits the margin of victory jumper with a little over a minute left in leading the Vandals with 24 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks and no turnovers while playing the entire game.

With all due respect to the person behind the "NCAA Buzzer Beaters & Game Winners" handle, this wasn't as wild as the brawl some years back between Texas Southern and Southern U. (I'll let people Google/YouTube it if they're interested.)

In the quarterfinals of the USA South Conference tournament... the Greensboro College Pride rallied down 8 points late in the 3rd quarter to emerge victorious over the Battling Bishops of NC Wesleyan 85-77. Despite their top 2 players fouling out, The Pride exploded for 28 points in the 4th quarter. Ultimately the difference in the game was the Pride's shooting 52% from downtown with 14 makes. It was definitely an entertaining back and forth game, I'm glad they streamed it online as I couldn't make it to the gym to watch it in person. The Pride improve to 25-1 and face #1 West Seed Berea College in the semifinals friday... the Semi's and Finals will be held at Southern Viriginia University.. the #1 seed in the east.

I didn't realize until just now that Kansas, coming into tonight, was in sole possession of 3rd place in the Big 12, ahead of both Texas and Oklahoma. However, that's partly because their schedule is heavily backloaded, as their Big 12 schedule ends with games against Iowa State tonight, then Baylor, Texas and Oklahoma. I don't like their chances of staying alone in 3rd place.

Baylor struggled more than one would expect tonight, ultimately winning by 7 over an Oklahoma State team that is 8-16 overall and 3-12 in the Big 12.

Texas wins 62-51 at Kansas State to earn the season sweep.

Ayoka Lee held to 10 points and 5 rebounds. 4 personal fouls. Only the second game KSU has lost at home this season (ISU).

Iowa State just completely dominated Kansas in Lawrence, 82-59. They were an unbelievable 17 of 34 from 3 -- Ashley Joens and Donarski were a combined 10-14 from behind the arc!

For comparison, Baylor needed a minor miracle to beat Kansas after KU led by 4 points with 25 seconds to play.

The Baylor @ Iowa State game next Monday will very likely decide 1st place. Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas are currently tied for 3rd, but KU's remaining schedule is more difficult and I believe UT and OU will get the byes in the Big 12 tournament.

Current standings and remaining games:

Baylor 12-3 (vs. KU, @ ISU, vs. TTU)
Iowa St 12-3 (vs. TTU, vs. BU, @ WVU)
Oklahoma 10-5 (vs. KSU, @ OSU, vs. KU)
Texas 10-5 (vs. TCU, @ KU, vs. OSU)
Kansas 10-5 (@ BU, vs. UT, @ OU)
Kansas St 8-7 (@ OU, vs. WVU, @ TCU)

Since the Big 12 only has 10 teams, the Top 6 teams receive first-round byes. Winners of the 2 first-round games advance to the quarterfinals.

Thanks for this. That's actually fitting because there's a massive separation between the top 6 and bottom 4. Six teams clearly in the NCAA tournament and four teams that won't even make the WNIT. West Virginia was a huge disappointment, but OU, KSU and KU have all exceeded expectations.

The PAC is so deep this year. Every night's a dogfight. Can't take even one game off.
Unless of course you're Stanford, in which case you're winning most games by 20+ and hold a 5-game lead over 2nd place.

I'm a way late on this.... but the CIAA and ESPN reached a three year deal to broadcast their tournament, both men's and women's. The Finals will be on ESPNU.. while the other games are on ESPN+. For those who don't know... the CIAA is a Division II conference made up of HBCU's. It's tournament is one of the biggest in college basketball regardless of divisions. It probably has the most local financial impact of any conference tournament

In Quarterfinal action today... #12 seed Livingstone College captured their second straight upset and knocked off Johnson C. Smith (My Golden Bulls) 50-48. You can truly throw out the record books when the Blue Bears and Golden Bulls meet up on any field/court...... the heated rivals are separated by just 30 miles. Livingstone advances to face off against #1 seed Lincoln (PA) who knocked off my Rams of Winston-Salem State Univ.

Wait, what? Deep vs. competitive are two different aspects. This conference is not deep. They are competitive. Frankly, only Stanford is a lock for the S16/E8/FF and none of the other schools would be considered guaranteed Sweet 16 participants given their up and down sets of games.
