MD vs Iowa. Maybe both teams score over 100? But I guess Iowa is short handed? Is MD at full strength?

Nebraska beat Indiana 72-55. I watched the 1st quarter and I am guessing that IU was either missing a player or two or was having a bad game because Nebraska looked like the better team on their home court.

Indiana's missing their leading scorer and rebounder, Mackenzie Holmes, who was performing like an All-American before her injury. I'm actually surprised they've done as well as they have without her, until tonight. Indiana was not a deep team to begin with

But this isn't really a terrible loss, a true road game against a (+/-) top 30 opponent.

Good win for Nebraska. It's probably not in the cards for them to host, but as a 6 or 7 seed they could be dangerous to a higher seed.

In Big South action..... seems like the Fighting Camels of Campbell have gotten over the hump... .. as they continue to lay waste to conference foes. They defeated the Hampton Pirates 73-55. The Gardner Webb Bulldogs cooled off the red hot Panthers of High Point and ended the Big Cats 6 game winning streak with a 62-53 victory.

This year's race in the Big South is probably the most competitive in conference history. On any given night.... for example... lower tier teams like the Blue Hose of Presbyterian took 2nd place USC-Upstate to the wire .... with the Spartans coming away with a 68-66 victory in a barnburner. The same squads face off again tonight... this time at the home of the Big Hose.

Huge huge game tonight at 7pm.... NC A&T at Longwood... the two most talented teams (probably) in the conference facing off.

LHN is actually part of the ESPN umbrella, just like SECN and ACCN but for some reason it isn't carried by some tv providers. I don't believe it is carried by HULU Live or YouTube TV, even if you have the ESPN+ add on. It shows up on the ESPN app schedule but when I select it, I get the message "Media not allowed Access to this program is not included in your provider subscription". I have HULU Live with ESPN +.

I believe Sling is the only online streaming service that carries LHN.

Iowa State had a rough time in Austin today, but Ashley Joens became the Cyclones' all-time leading scorer, passing both Bridget Carleton and Angie Welle.

Because cable networks need to pay money to the providers and sports networks typically charge pretty hefty fees. (Thus the reason why cord cutting was particularly disastrous for ESPN.) Outside of Texas, who wants to watch a Texas-centric network? A cable network is not going to pay $2-3/subscriber for something no one watches. Same reason the PAC network doesnt have much coverage east of the Rockies.

I live in Texas and I can't even watch LHN, which boggles my mind. I was going to watch the game last night, thinking I could. Maybe it's only an add-on or something, I dunno, but it just makes me wonder who is actually watching these games? Lol

UCF had a first half hangover against Wichita State last night but then blew them out in the second half 60-35. Up to 29 in NET but are only getting 5 votes in the AP poll. Florida and FGCU are in the top 25 with worse NET numbers, and much worse RPI numbers but that's a more flawed stat. UCF is 7th in RPI which as well as they are doing isn't reasonable obviously.

Record: UCF 19-3/ FGCU 22-2
Net: UCF 29/ FGCU 36
Massey: UCF 30/FGCU 48
SOS (according to Massey): UCF 55/FGCU 250
RPI: UCF 6/ FGCU 31
Top 25: UCF NR (5 votes)/FGCU 25
I don’t understand the anti UCF bias in the AP poll. My only explanation is most voters just aren’t paying attention to them.

I read that when Texas leaves the Big 12, they will drop the LHN.

Yes, that's inevitable as no other school in the SEC has its own TV network with ESPN. All schools are part of ESPN's SEC TV Network (which is currently operated out of Charlotte, NC). Most expect that LHN (operated in Austin, TX) will kind of be spun into a second SEC TV Network station in order to air more SEC sports content. Obviously, it could be shut down altogether based on cost.

Oklahoma will also lose their third-tier TV rights agreement with Bally Sports network.

There has been some discussion of using the LHN as a second SECN channel that focuses on the SEC West while the existing channel will focus on the East. (with Alabama and Auburn going east and Mizzou going west). That would proably work in football, but probably not for other sports, But football pays the bills.
