The first real insight into her recruiting in an AP article springing up here and there. Geno sure has refined his pitch.

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-st...cruit-watching-march-run-waiting-for-her-turn

"Walker, who averaged 26 points and eight rebounds as a senior, said she and her classmates all understand they probably would put up bigger numbers in another program.
But they were convinced to come to UConn by Auriemma, who likes to ask recruits what they would do would do if they were the best singer in the world. Would they want to headline in Branson, Missouri? Or would they rather try to make it big on Broadway?"

BTW, apparently those who said "he had me at hello", were right.

As noted, that video was from the Virginia championship game--the biggest game of the season for Monacan. Look at the range of what Meg does--make shots from inside and outside, handle the ball, block shots, etc. As with Maya, Meg does whatever is needed to get the win. This is why Geno is excited about her. Meg's game is VERY multi-dimensional.

AEH needs 24 points to a 1000 for the season!
Ossining will probably need all of those 24 points to win the game. Imagine winning the championship and scoring 1000 career points in the same game.

Tough way to end the season for Andi and Ossining, but they had a great run.

There's SO much wisdom in Geno's coaching that surpasses basketball. His head is not in the clouds of idealism, yet he is a man driven by a set of core values that are binding and effective.
