Based on how Italy has played in this tournament, this should be an easy win for Team USA. Based on expectations, Italy has under achieved. Not a good showing for the Home Team. That could change today if they beat USA. IMO USA vs Italy is the only game that has the potential to be a close game.

Australia leads Hungary after 3 Quarters 52-40. They'll finish 2nd in Group D as Japan is easily beating Mexico.

75-51 Australia. They do not seem to have enough speed to give US any threat. I found it funny that Australia up 73-51 with under 10 seconds left took a last shot instead of holding the ball.

I hope we have a true PG on the floor at all times today. Some line ups they had out vs China didn't have one & it was a bit uglier than I would prefer. Whole possessions with only 1 person touching the ball, that's silly.

Konig (Canada) went off hitting 10 - 15 from 3 pt play including stone cold killer 3pt when game was tied at 70 (Latvia). Plays for NC State. Pretty impressive.

Chennedy Carter is gonna be a real handful in the SEC. They should have the guards switching on screens not chasing. Italy has a very simple game plan, spread USA out and go 1 v 1.

US is getting a lot of good looks from behind the arc and throwing up a lot of clangers (2-14). But like most games I expect that the depth of talent on the US team will wear down Italy. It's 21-13 US midway through the second period.

Prior to the tournament based on how Joyner Holmes played for Texas last year, I thought she would be a dominant force in this tournament. She's been an okay player but not a great one. Don't think any of the USA bigs been dominant.

USA leads 24 - 21 end of the 1st half. Lack luster performance by Team USA. If they continue to play like this, Italy might just win the game at the Free Throw Line.

USA should have enough talent to win by Double Digits. Who will step up for Team USA. Its a good crowd but its not as if the home crowd is impacting the game. For the most part its a quiet crowd.

Wow. Good thing these kids don't have to rely solely on this "exhibition" to attract scholarships. I don't see anybody playing well for USA at the moment. Their shot selection has been, at times, absolutely horrid through much of the tourney, but they got away with it. Today? Not so much.

I wonder which players were supposed to be the lights out three point shooters on this team. As far as I can see they don't have one. If they don't play significantly better this team won't beat Russia. I do expect this game to be a double digit win by team USA. However, it shouldn't be this close at half time. I'm not comfortable.

They are trying to run Italy out of the game, but lack the cohesiveness to do it. They really do look like the LVols.

Much better quarter on offense for Team USA . They scored 28 points to Italy's 18.

Geno and coaching staff will have to work on Megan's defense as she tends to reach and get called for fouls.

US looking better. 28 pt 3rd quarter. Crystal is really stepping up her leadership/play and coach will not want to take her out.

Dangerfield has tremendous court vision. And then when you consider she's 5-5, it is even more impressive considering that she has to see through a forest of chests to make those passes. She's going to be a load playing with the skill level of UConn.
