Best album since Recovery IMO. He’s back to dissing everyone.

That's where he's at his best. Dude was built to clown. And battle.

As we should. You can't be top 5 if you have confirmed ghost writers. Hell, you can't be too 50 unless we are talkning sales.

I said it before but you can't be Top 10 if you are really a pop star.

Lol. I feel you but I won't hold fame against an MC. Em and Jay are pop stars at this point, but not many wanna hold a mic and go toe-to-toe with either of them.

What's the criteria, lyrically or overall impact?
I would imagine it's like the lead singer of a rock band. It's not just about lyrics and voice, it's all-encompassing. Flow, lyrics, stage presence, voice, cool factor etc. Snoop wasn't the greatest lyricist but his flow and voice is as good as anyone's.

And his 'cool factor' was off the charts.

I'm going way old school on this. In fact all the way back to the sixties and nominating my mom on this one.

The years I still believed in Santa I would get downstairs each Christmas morning to some serious magic. The packages under the tree were all tight as a drum. Amazing array of colors. Lots of greens and reds and gold for the record but really not the blues.

No beat boxing nor bells and whistles but plenty of ribbons and bows. I mean you really couldn't beat the box. Some serious use of tape loops too.

Thanks mom.

More than far definition. If those are the parameters, not in order:

1) KRS -1
2) Biggie
3) LL
4) Cube
4) Pac/EM

There are some better lyricists, but when you add talent plus impact, everyone on my list changed the game in some major way.

I'm guessing you're taking individuals only, not groups (Wu PE, Tribe et al).

I actually might throw Dre in there if you add in his producing and overall impact

Correct, I didn't include groups. If so RUN DMC and NWA would have to be considered.

Dre was tough. His impact on hip-hop puts him there, but as an MC.......no.

This isn't a nomination - just thought I'd drop this commentary on rap/hip-hop in this thread.

Some truth from DMC.

Takeaway: Hip-hop today is like disco. Disposable and meaningless and all about empty crap, not social impact.
