HA! I just said the same thing to my husband. He claims it's nonsense, but I'm still worried. She looks great though!!

You know what's strange?...Given the high presence of African Americans in bball, take another look at the faces.

Well, it is Connecticut after all where more than three-quarters of the population is Caucasian.

Even if we grant that the cover is about Ct. persons (which I would not understand in SI) the whites have far more than a 75% showing.

Anybody know if this is just a regional issue? Sometimes they tailor covers for different sections of the country and/or fan bases.

Maybe you need to ask the students why more of them in the picture are Caucasian? This picture represents students that were either available or requested to show up for a photo shoot. The cross section does not represent anything else.

And, if were to even go down the Mike D route, where's the problem/ where's the bias if Caucasians are showing up to watch a predominantly African American Team play? It's an Anti-Mike picture if anything.

I did assume the folks were bball involved. OK, I get it.

It looks like a version devoted to CT actually. And whether that's an issue for the fans in the region is anyone's guess.

Yes it is a regional cover but UConn is the ONLY women's team featured. The other teams featured are MSU, Arizona, Florida, Syracuse, and WSU men's teams.
