And, let’s go back to the 18th century for one of the best pieces of music ever written. This performance was on all Strad instruments (except the harpsichord), every one of them played by a world-class soloist.

I saw them do "White Pineapple Lemon Juice" once during the 3 performances I attended of theirs.

The greatest and most electrifying performer of the era. It didn't hurt that he had a voice that could sing anything from light opera to gospel. James Brown stole his act but no one could steal this voice. Supposedly the heart attack that put him in a coma for 8 years struck him after singing, "My heart is crying, crying".

Although first recorded by Johnny Moore, this was the second doo-wop version. Both versions were by, yes, boys from NYC. To me, this beats the version by The Cadillac's. Although this groups fast version of "Unchained Melody" was a bigger hit, I love this just as much.
