Yeah this seems like it would benefit the P5 programs significantly more. I'm sure UConn would be willing to invest, but some of the other Big East schools I'm not so sureWow this is really going to shake up the landscape. I wonder if all the Big East teams will be willing to absorb the increased investment.
I’m sure we will make the investment for baseball, but it probably means that we will reduce the number of sports we carry at UConn. I suspect that it will impact the smaller private schools harder.Seems objectively horrible for parity in college baseball. There's still a roster limit so even if there's no scholarship cap there effectively is with the 34(?) player roster capI'm baffled as to how an intercollegiate sport can have unlimited scholarships. A statement claiming that the increase would be to some excessive level (for example 35-40 for baseball) while illogical could be plausible. I don't see how they can make a claim that a school can fill as many scholarships as they want. There would need to be a ceiling, even if that ceiling is relatively unattainable.
