1. South Carolina (reigning SEC champs, losing a lot of talent but still the team to beat imo)
2. LSU (Van Lith is a strong addition but I don't expect them to be better than last year)
3. Tennessee (Horston is a major loss but the return of Key is big and they had some good transfers in)
4. Arkansas (underperformed last year but Goforth is back and reportedly healthy for the first time in her college career; more experience on the team than in the recent past, and Taleah Scott is a dangerous Freshman)
5. Ole Miss (some solid portal additions; will contend for a top 4 spot)
6. A&M (solid portal additions)
7. Georgia
8. Vanderbilt (Oliver and Pissott are nice additions)
9. Alabama
10. Miss State
11. Missouri
12. Auburn (Collins is a nice addition but lost a lot of players to portal)
13. Kentucky
14. Florida (a lot of transfers)

Vanderbilt won't go winless. The main reason they struggled last season was injuries.
So who will they have this year that can lead them to victory besides the PG they had last year if shes still even there ?

I think Cambridge may be their best player. I am just making the point. They should be better than last year. They had three players with season ending injuries before the season started.

A team with 9 to 10 McDonalds All Americans on it, is going to finish 4th in a conference that it has dominated for a decade. I would be shock if that happens. I think SC lowest finish was 2nd during that time period.

As a Kentucky fan…

14. Kentucky - Elzy has been awful here and can’t recruit or attract players from the portal.

This looks about right. LSU should be the overwhelming favorite, with SC a close second. I think Tennessee and Ole Miss might swap positions though.

I was thinking the other day about the inaugural ACC-SEC challenge in the fall and possible matchups. If I were a betting man, I think they will do a VPI vs L$U rematch. Personally I would love to see L$U and Hailey Van Lith at Louisville. Ole Miss @ Chapel Hill, Small Carolina vs ND, Kentucky at Duke, Tenne$$ee at Wake Forest.

LSU and VT could meet in a thanksgiving tournament, and SC and ND open the season in Paris.

Mississippi State is quietly putting together a really nice roster. Starting 5 next year likely will be:
C: Jessika Carter, 6-5, Grad, 14.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg
F: Erynn Barnum, 6-2, Grad, 15.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg (at Arkansas)
F: Darionne Rogers, 5-11, Sr, 16.8 ppg, 5.1 apg (at DePaul)
G: Jerkaila Jordan, 5-9, Sr, 11.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg
G: Lauren Park, 5-3, Grad, 20.8 ppg, 6.3 apg (at Seton Hall)

That's a really nice starting 5. I could see them competing with Tennessee/Ole Miss for the #3 spot in the SEC.

That is a nice looking roster.

SEC seems dramatically better next year.

When we think the SEC is good they bomb in the tournament. When we think they're bad, they crush it lol. We'll see what next year brings.
