I need data, so $60. Even if it's just a week. That seems like paying through the teeth to me.

@August_West Are you talking about phone service or data, or both? It seems like both, but does the $10 include unlimited data? That's my problem. I'm using GPS etc and blowing through data like crazy. That's why I always pick the $60 plan, even if it's just for a few days.
Both.

Thanks. I guess it's kind of 6 of one, half dozen of another. If I'm abroad for a week, I end up using way more data than I use at home, so the $10/day would become a lot more, because I get tagged in $15 extra increments for going over certain data thresholds. So I guess that's what I originally started doing the $60 thing.

Basically, what I'm realizing through all of this is that I don't know what I'm talking about, because I don't care, because I don't pay for it myself.

I'll see myself out.

I pay for cellular on my iPad - it is super convenient, but if you care what your cell phone bill is hotspot is fine.

I also sit for hours on Metro-North every day - so I use the cellular to stream video so I get my money's worth.
