Linky? Wow, did not expect them to pull the trigger, but it was time. Probably will lose some transfers and maybe some of their incoming recruits, but Wynn was going nowhere, regardless of how much time they gave her.

Of course I have no idea who they will get as a replacement, but it clearly wasn't working.
what about gonzaga? she's kept things going post-Graves, when it wouldve been easy to fall off
or the idaho st coach?

Definitely would make sense to put out feelers to Fortier. I don't know anything about the Idaho St. coach. Such a crap shoot w/ coaches who have been successful at mid majors. Sometimes they can transition to success at P5 schools, sometimes they don't.

Wow. Didn’t expect Washington to pull the trigger. It makes you wonder if they have someone in mind. Kelsey Plum was coaching at Arkansas recently. ;)

I wonder if we’ll see any other movement in the PAC.

So was Osahor. I've been keeping an eye on an alum from an earlier time frame, Loree Payne. After a nice stint at D2 Univ. of Puget Sound, she has slowly been improving Northern Arizona. Don't really think that's who I would be looking at currently.

Payne could be interesting. I almost wonder whether you go after someone wild like Jarrold Olson at Cal Baptist after his perfect season. The success is certainly there. Otherwise, I’m not sure there’s a huge list of names if Fortier, Johnston, and others stay at their programs

How many Pac 12 coaches have come and gone while Tara has been at Stanford? It has to be over 30.
Oh my goodness, I'm gonna let somebody else try to tackle that. I think CTT is the second longest tenured by a healthy margin. Scott Rueck might actually be the third longest?

NMP can definitely be added to the hot seat now. No post season for Mississippi State.

I cannot imagine MSU dumping her after one year. Who would take the job after that? I do wonder about how many Bulldogs might pop up in the portal this week, though. And that won’t help next year.

I am wondering about the scenario described up-thread suggesting that if LSU didn’t make the tourney, then the “Other Nikki” might be packing her bags.

Not saying for sure she is fired this year, but she has joined the hot seat crowd.

You have to understand, this year reminded some of us of 25 years ago when it was just bad. Sharon Fanning, who preceded Vic never had teams that looked this lackadaisical.

Dating back to the Pac-10 days? Since 1985? Has to be a lot more than that.

Hey now, don't short change her. 3-32 was the first 2 years. She exploded for 5 conference wins in '19-'20. 3 more this year.

I don't know about that controversy. That seemed to blow over. AFAIK it only came from 1 player, didn't seem to be any substantiation. I certainly didn't see any evidence of chemistry problems or poor body language from any players. I think it's more likely that was just sour grapes from one disgruntled player than an actual problem within the program. Just my $.02.

Wait, were you referring to a tweet that got a little blow back? That was overblown, but if it was really a problem why wasn't she fired when it happened (like almost a year ago)? I don't remember the administration raking her over the coals for that.

No, I think her termination is squarely resting on her failure to field a competitive squad in conference 4 straight seasons.

Hey I was right about Rueck being 3rd longest tenured, just ahead of Close.

So, I am curious about any comments from the schools on Nikki Fargas or Sharon Versyp. I mean, come on, those contracts are expiring next year and there is no sign of visible improvement coming. Doesn't the school at least offer some insight into what they plan? After the tournament FSU will need to address their situation. I still think some more dominoes have to fall. Will any early round exits cause additional "hot seat" situations?
