#1 feels cursed… I’ll take #2 or 3 until we get a couple BE games under our belt.

Butler gives me the heebie-jeebies. They’re trending upward w/ Thad Matta.
I was listening to Titus and Tate and they referred to the 1 spot as a hot potato that no one wants but when they mentioned us they said paraphrased "UConn wants the potato, they win championships so give it to them and they will take care of it" and thats how I feel as well. Would be great for the brand to hold onto 1 for a while

It's obvious some voters have Virginia over UConn cause they beat us on the not so secret secret scrimmage.

Good morning, after a couple of nice wins this week over Florida (their biggest home loss since 1998) and LIU, plus some top 10 losses, we should be moving up

Top 10 teams with losses this week:
#2 Texas v #17 Illinois
#2 Texas v Chris Beard
#1 Houston v #8 Alabama

Here are some public AP ballots for week 5: (Last week's rank in parentheses)
Jon Rothstein: 3 (5)
Jerry Carino: 3 (5)
Clayton Collier: 3 (5)
Mark Berman: 3 (5)
Dave Borges: 2 (3)
Chris Murray: 2 (3)
Dickie V: 1 (5)
Scott Richey: 1 (5) <-- this guy had us unranked 2 weeks ago lol
Rick Bozich: 2 (4)
Jeff Borzello: 1 (5)
Seth Davis: 3 (7)

Non-AP Analytic Sites:
Kenpom: 1 (4)
Barttorvik: 2 (3)
Evan Miya: 3 (7)
Massey: 2 (4)
Team Rankings: 1 (3)
Sagarin: 1 (2)
Haslametrics: 1 (2)
Reddit Userpoll: 1 (5)
NET Rankings: 1

Prediction: UConn #2. I think we have an outside shot at being #1
#2 Texas v Chris Beard

Lol…great stuff!

On the whole I agree but not everyone voting us 2 had the exact same order. Like Rick Bozich moved us from 3 to 2 but that's because he had Texas 2 and they lost
Borges flipped us and UVA this week. So some other voters might do the same

We're going to come in at 3. Voters are simple and won't have us jump other teams. Some might, but the majority won't.

Set aside the eye test and the actual wins on our resume. There’s simply no excuse for us to not be ranked #1 and if we aren’t, it’s due to bias that we know exists

The Huskies are No. 1 at KenPom and No. 1 in Sagarin, they are ahead of Purdue and Virginia in ESPN's Basketball Power Index (BPI) and they are the only team ranked in the top 10 in both adjusted offensive efficiency and adjusted defensive efficiency

Like most of have said here the voters aren't watching all of the games. So I think in most cases they aren't going to jump one undefeated over another. However, this is a different case then most. Just reading the box scores, the teams we are playing (more recently) and the locations (see SEC Road game) coupled with the margin of victories it should sway some voters to jump UConn over the other two undefeated teams. You don't even need the eye test is what I am saying.

Not directed at you, I see your joking, but I do see this scrimmage brought up both here and on Reddit. People forget we had neither Karaban or Dre…

Predictably, the top three are really close. Purdue has 1508 points, Virginia has 1476, UConn 1466. Alabama garnered 1326 to come in at fourth. I could see movement among the top three even without anyone losing, depending on how good they look in a given week.
