You'll never get consensus on this board, but I like him as our AD and think he has done many very good things for us.Do we hate Benedict?
Well, Dave may make good on his promise to getUConn does NOT want to be running a search for an AD during a $70m shortfall while all units are slashing by 15%.
YesIs ASU that much of a step up?
Looks like 121 mil revenue to 55, so yeah guess so.Yes
The positive is that he has brought in talented coaches.Do we hate Benedict? I dont think so but i want to be sure before i either cheer for or lament his potential departure.
The KO situation was woefully mishandled, but to be fair to Benedict he was following the advice of outside counsel. The positive is that he has brought in talented coaches.
The negatives:
- he cost the university an extra $3 million in the way he handled Ollie's firing.
- He screwed over a lot of long time season ticket holders by changing the season ticket model and then changing price tiers 2-3 years after implementing the new model.
I think we'll survive if he leaves as long as the new AD gets Hurley's seal of approval.
Absolutely. I am sure Dave's office came up with a long list of KO's ineptitude. The KO situation was woefully mishandled, but to be fair to Benedict he was following the advice of outside counsel.
Calhoun "fired" 2 AD's, Turner and Hathaway. Hurley and Mora will have alot to say should DB leave, especially Hurley.changing price tiers 2-3 years after implementing the new model.
I think we'll survive if he leaves as long as the new AD gets Hurley's seal of approval.
Weather wise. Yes.Is ASU that much of a step up?
Here's an easy way to determine if you like or hate Benedict:Do we hate Benedict? I dont think so but i want to be sure before i either cheer for or lament his potential departure.
He hired Dan Hurley, that's right up there with John Toner hiring Jim Calhoun.I like DB as a person but do not think he has been a particularly good AD for us. Would be fine with seeing him move on to greener pastures.
