OK - I'll start the thread.

Like the US Open, again, I have no idea - not sure who the course sets up well for or the expected weather conditions....

Looks like Spieth hasn't played since the US Open - never good to go into a major without some recent success. Rahm played well last weekend in the Scottish Open. Koepka did pretty well in the US Open and Travelers. I want to like Rory, but he missed the cut at the Scottish Open. Just so hard to bet against the favorite, Rahm. But I'll go with Koepka.

I'm going with Louie. Gets redemption after his choke job tee shots on the back nine at Torrey Pines.

Rahm is playing too good to not be in the mix. I'm picking Brooks this week. I think Louie and Matt Fitzpatrick have a good chance. Spieth and Thomas are in good form. The course is quirky to say the least. Blind tees shots and the bumpiest fairways in the rota. Most players are not big fans of it. Last two winners(Clarke, Curtis) had long odds to win going in so we might have a longshot win the Claret Jug.

Weather forecast seems pretty reasonable for The Open.

Little chance of rain for all 4 days. Moderate wind....13-17mph....all 4 days....kind of 'one club' wind.

Bingo, Qdog. Because of all that id hammer Bryson to MC. He doesn't have the mental game to embrace random outcomes.
In my 1 and done Im between Brooks and Xander

Not a big fan of the course being in the Open rotation. Other than a couple of unique features, it's always seemed more a US-style course than an Open course.

That said, history shows that while on pretty much every round someone posts a -5, nobody does it consistently, so the winner is still usually less than -10.

I'll be rooting for Westwood to finally get his major. But if I were betting, it would be on Ancer, Reed and Louie.

Can't go with Kopeka...he's already stated that he doesn't like the course. Also won't have any exposure to Rory, DJ, Speith, or Bryson.

I'm liking Rham, Morikawa, X, Cantlay, Scheff, and Fitz for favorite/mid-tier guys. Longshots will be Cink, Kisner, Hoffman, and old man Westwood.

And if anyone cares, Sam Burns is ridiculously (borderline incorrectly) underpriced on DK this week.

There is zero chance that Garrick Higgo doesn’t win this tournament. He’s a golfer and this is a golf course and that is where a guy like Higgo shines.

Everyone is playing for second place.

I'm feeling like Justin Thomas is due to break through. But I've got no real reasoning behind it. Would be nice to see Westwood pull it off.

Well so much for that. Loads of Brits playing well, but not Westwood. Thomas is on 11, so has a chance to get under par.

Somebody in the Rahm/Lowry/Louie group has a psychedelic Peter Max-ish yellow golf bag, but not sure which player. Anyway, golf needs more of that. Kind of thing I'd imagine fashion plate Jesper Parnevik would use if he were still relevant.

Edit: It's Rahm's. Now I have another reason to root for him.

DeShambles mouthed off about Cobra and his driver face blaming his crappy day on them. They weren’t very happy nor was the British media.

South Africans tearing it up it seems. Any idea where the cut line is expected to fall?
