Diamond Stone could have scored 40 on Coppin State tonight, as a senior in high school. I don't think Ollie is going to be basing many recruiting pitches on a game like this.

Hell with that - there's no honor in recruiting. Boeheim is probably on the phone with someone right now telling him that sitting in a zone will actually help him get to the NBA. We can point out to big man recruits that we developed a big who had no offensive skill into a guy who broke an NCAA scoring record (most points without a FG miss). Let someone else play it down.

Agreed. More impressive to me than the 40 is the fact that he did it without missing a shot. I realize most were oops, but even that requires a fair amount of timing, coordination, and awareness. Oh, and 14-16 at the line isn't bad either. I don't get why some are so quick to dismiss it just because Coppin State sucks.

Donyell had 42/18 and 42/9 against St. John's in 1993/1994. Pretty amazing it's been 20 years since another Husky put up those kind of numbers. Pretty impressive outing for Amida regardless of the competition.
