Why does women's basketball seem to be more popular overseas than in the U.S.?

I'm another ex-fan who no longer watches ANY men's basketball pro or college. The "above the rim" play and one-on-one don't do a thing for me any more. Give me a good WCBB game most of the time (although sometimes the missed bunnies are excruciating to watch) and a UConn Women's game any time.

Well, I've attended several WNBA games this summer and think I can vouch that every player on every team is giving it their best every game. I don't think they can do otherwise and hope to stay on the team they play on because of the players that are waiting to take their place outside the league.
The only teams that might've appeared bad this year were missing key players due to injury. Kind of like the way the Chicago Bulls will be the rest of this year.
