All the talk about out of conference scheduling prompted this...

Literally any of the defects going back to the first ACC raid I would schedule OOC.

Well...maybe not Depaul.

I would rather choke on my own vomit than have to play DePaul again.

St. John's. Cuse fan base is nothing but envious, what would playing us do for them is something they might have the nerve to think or bring up if it happened... plus the Red Storm could host the Huskies at the garden which could sell a few recruits to the school every 2 years

Anyone but Cuse. I'm allergic to oranges.

Providence and Cuse. After we slaughter BC this year we'll be pretty bored with them

Syracuse. I hate Syracuse as much as the next guy, but I think it'd be the matchup that'd garner the most national attention. UConn-Syracuse is recognized as a college basketball rivalry across the country and we have quite a bit of history against them.

Throw in the fact that these games could be played at Madison Square Garden and that Cuse has ties to a major conference (still tough to think about UConn as a mid-major, but we're not in a power conference and that's the harsh reality). Syracuse is usually a ranked team year to year, but as we all know they choke when it matters most. Along with Kentucky or Duke, Syracuse is the team I enjoy beating the most, and that's not something I'd want to give up.

Syracuse causes the most excitement. G'town, Nova & St. John's for the big city exposure. Those games make most sense.

BC won the last game. Lost nearly everyone of the forty before it.

My kneejerk reaction was Cuse, but they lobbied against us in the last ACC vote, so let them sit with that UConn taste for a while. Georgetown is about the only school with a national profile that I don't hate out of the old bunch.

We haven't played them since the Big East days. Once they left to the ACC, Calhoun refused to schedule them. Should be a fun game, I like that kid Olivier Hanlan for them.

Really none of the above, but I believe that we should be playing Louisville yearly.
I didn't include (old) new big east schools like 'Ville, WVU, Marquette and ND cause I was looking at the "old" rivalry types.

I'd go with Boston College as my number once choice, and the rest would be as follows:

2. Syracuse
3. St John's
4. Providence (a solid beating might finally shut up that PC guy who randomly posts on here from time to time)
5. Villanova
6. Georgetown - I actually like JT III quite a bit as a coach and have a lot of respect for him. I don't feel too much animosity toward Georgetown.

Georgetown - greatest national profile not named Cuse!
St. Johns - if they schedule at MSG to get MSG.
Providence - New England rivalry and I want to stick it to BC!

Then Nova!

Cuse was UConn's greatest rival from our fan base's point of view. But their fans never could embrace UConn. It bothered them that we superseded them on the national scene. Plus they were asked for an opinion about who they'd prefer in the ACC, UConn or Ville, and they went for Ville! They plague the media with grads who nail UConn at every chance they can. NO way Cuse. Let them become irrelevant down the road and let our rivalry be Michigan State and Ohio State!!!!!

Georgetown because they will retain cachet as a national brand and they will always remind me of the days when the Big East established its reputation as a basketball powerhouse. And because they didn't do anything to screw us.

Screw Syracuse. I dont want to help their program at all. Georgetown and UConn never had a series of games that got nasty or were memorable (for me). I would pick Pitt (but they didnt make the cut evidently). We had some great games against them in the last 10 years both in and out of the BE tourney. Khalid on the scorers table with his UConn jersey for the crowd - crazy fun times.
