Top 7 Siena doubles, nice to see, and then we finally get some productive outs, 2 ground outs to score a run and cut the lead to 2-1. However which is often the case looks like Penders went with Tabakman too long and the wheels have come off. 2 singles to lead off the inning and then in a sac bunt attempt as we often do struggle with bunts we throw the ball all around and commit several errors and now it is 4-1 and most likely the ball game.

Once again, I think Penders would rather go with a tiring starter such as Tabakman or Marzi than go with any reliever not named Ruotolo or Mahoney. He just isn't comfortable with any of the other relievers in a game that is still tight.

UConn comes out fast in game 3 against Memphis. They get four runs after two outs are recorded in the 1st inning. Hits by McDowell and Siena I believe drive in the runs. Meanwhile, Anthony Kay strands two runners getting out of a jam in the bottom of the inning.

For a welcome change of pace, UConn has their hitting shoes on today. 2nd inning RBI doubles by Melley and McDowell results in a 7-0 UConn lead.

One good sign is that Tom Verdi was having a good offensive series before this game, getting on base at least twice each game. So maybe he is coming out of his offensive funk.
