God no, USF is a bigger disaster now than they were under Leavitt.

USF probably can't afford to buy him out, so it seems a bit irrelevent. Rather not have Skip.

It raises a good question, but how many NBE coaches would leave their current job to come here. Memphis, is that it?

He has lost what little players listened down there, what a shame.

Losing 10 of 11 Big East games allows for dismissal with just cause. That is so bad it's painful.

If his last name wasn't Holtz and he had never coached here before, he wouldn't even have his own thread. This is almost like asking if Steve Kragthorpe should be our next coach.

Skip brings programs to the brink of a national break out and then they collapse when the stage is given to them. How many times has USF been picked to win the BE and a darkhorse to make a splash nationally, only to wilt away with some bad losses. Same at ECU. Got some momentum and recognition there, but was never able to get over the hump.

In his defense he left for the right family reasons and because the state turned down the football upgrade for the 3rd time shortly before he made his decion to leave which at the time seemed like the final nail in the coffin for a D1 upgrade.
