Who said adultery is OK?

The Louisville University Administration (including the AD), by its silence and inaction when Pitino admitted his adulterous behavior. IIRC it was with a waitress.

Would it have been better if it were with a banker?

Would it have been better if it were with a banker?

Not for Pitino.

It was Karen Cypher, a waitress, and she got in trouble for trying to shake Pitino down for several million bucks (extortion) by informing Rick that he got her pregnant.

He admitted to giving her $3,000 to pay for an abortion. All widely reported - Louisville paper, ESPN, etc.

His stature as Louisville BB Coach earned him the "Teflon Treatment" by the UL Administration.

Is Louisville even a real school? Or is it more along the lines of ITT Tech or Three Rivers Community College?

It is a real school. Not particularly difficult to get into, but, once you do (like most schools) the academic path you take can be difficult, or on the easier side. I have a sister who went there, graduated with a double major, and went on to have a long successful career in medical technology. Her husband went there, including grad school (law), and has been a legal-eagle ever since.

Sadly, like any number of schools we can name (UNC, 'Bama, FSU, the list goes on) being a prized athlete can mean academics are secondary, at best.

As expected, the madam's story has been confirmed by a former Louisville recruit and now Ohio State player JaQuan Lyle who was interviewed by NCAA yesterday:

Ohio State freshman JaQuan Lyle spoke with an NCAA investigator this week about his recruiting visit to Louisville in June 2013 and confirmed the gist of allegations involving paid escorts during his trip to the school, a source with knowledge of the NCAA's investigation told CBS Sports on Thursday morning.

"He told the truth," the source said.

The allegations were made in a book published last Friday night called "Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen." In it, Katina Powell, a self-described madam, writes that she took four escorts, at the request of former Louisville staff member Andre McGee, to do a "show" for a "new recruit named JaQuan Lyle."

"I took Rod-Ni, TooTall, Jazmine and Shay, who calls herself Sammi," Powell wrote in a journal entry. "TooTall made $100, Shay made $100, and Jazzy made nothing because she did absolutely nothing."

Lyle, just a couple of weeks after his visit, committed to Louisville but later de-committed. He subsequently planned to play at Oregon but ultimately landed at Ohio State.

A unnamed former Louisville player told investigators that strippers were in the players' dorm on at least one occasion.

Meanwhile, the president of U of L issued a statement in which he said he fully supports Athletic Director Tom Jurich and the two of them are committed to the values that are fundamental to the success of Louisville athletics. The President failed to mention Rick Pitino who tonight said he was sorry Pres Ramsay "didn't think enough to mention me."

This is ugly.

Kind of puts a lunch from Wendy's into perspective...

(sorry, I could not resist the bad joke)
Calling a 7th grade little leaguer is worthy of an NCAA violation. Supplying hookers and fake classes for your current or prospective student-athletes seems to be OK. UConn is apparently doing it all wrong.
