The early signing period starts in a little over 4 months. Just a wild guess, but I think we get 1 more from 2023. Probably someone 6’2” or taller.

I am constantly confused by the recruiting calendar. Can anyone lay out the dates and distinctions for me?

Thanks, @HuskyNan
The Evaluation period allows for some contacts, then? Or is this just a time for observing from a distance? The article says: "An evaluation period is that period of time when it is permissible for authorized athletics department staff members to be involved in off-campus activities designed to assess the academic qualifications and playing ability of prospective student-athletes."

Does "off-campus activities" mean attending games and meets? How would they go about assessing academic qualifications?

Just a feeling. UConn will sign a 2023 player we are not discussing. European big?

With so many UConn alumnae going to Europe, they should reciprocate (and lately, they have). ;)

A staff can watch players at events such as AAU games but can’t initiate contact. A recruit or her family can approach the staff, though. And UConn coaches can always talk to AAU and high school coaches

definitely wouldn’t be shocked if we did!
It's clear we have an opening in the '23-24 recruitment for one more big. The path forward after '23-24 makes more sense that way.

I don’t follow European womens basketball so please enlighten me as to who UConn might be interested in and what country they play for.

Juste Jocyte is someone we should be interested in. She played with pros at age 13. She is currently 16. One of the best in the world at her age.

Probably but Cheli is from San Jose, 22 miles down the road from Stanford and not many kids from that area pass up a scholarship from there. And she has an offer reported in March this year.
