Anybody else have that gut feeling that if NBC picks up the Big East the next sound you'll hear will be ESPN's tractor-trailers heading west on I-84 to Waterbury then south to Charlotte?

Somehow I doubt they'd like to try to transport the massive facility they've built up.

2fer like for both the post content and the signature picture.

They're building the largest HD Production Facility on Earth in Bristol. So, I doubt it.

I have no idea what one has to do with the other. Not even remotely.

Charlotte is working hard to get the United Technologies HQ. And with Connecticut's taxes and anti-business climate, they have a shot.

But that still has nothing to do with ESPN having the BE contract.

UTC's departure from CT has been a foregone conclusion for 15 years. Their business demands it. I doubt it will be to Charlotte, though. The new "division" based there is a mirage.

ESPN already has offices in Charlotte. Now if North Carolina offered to build new facilities for free, and gave years of tax refunds, they might be on to something.

ESPN is going nowhere. Connecticut's tax structure is excellent for movies and TV, a low tax area in a high tax state. One Connecticut's few growth areas.

I missed that ESPN was part of that first 5 deal so we can kill this thread now. The premise to my thoughts was that if ESPN was no longer covering Big East football and basketball(Big East Tourney) and factor in the unforgiving tax climate in CT why would they hang around.
