3:30 on ESPNU: UCF vs ECU

6:00 on ESPNNEWS Houston vs Tulane

8:00 (definitely later): USF vs UConn

I'm gonna guess 4500 for the UCF/ECU game, 9000 for the Houston/Tulane game, 12500 for the USF/UConn game

EDIT: Not tickets sold but actual butts in seats

I hate to be pessimistic but I think you are looking at 3K tops until the Uconn game and then you are looking at 10K tops. Seats weren't selling for $9 on easyseat.

If 9k show up for Houston and Tulane it would be amazing and the AAC should award Hartford the tournament every year

I should've clarified.. I put up 9,000 because of the UConn game being after and people wanting to get there early. At tip I would expect a similar number of people to the 3:30 game. The 9000 is more of a guess as people in the building at the middle of the second half

15 minutes before the Houston and Tulane game, and this brave soul is one of the very few at the XL Center:

I just counted fans in the stands. 62.

You can't even imagine how exhilarating the place is right now.

Let's just assume UConn fans bought 99% of the tickets for Thursday, since the tickets are for all 3 games with no reentry I honestly wouldn't expect a semblance of a crowd until the 2nd half of the Houston and Tulane game.

East Carolina. Central Florida. 3:30 pm on a weekday. In Hartford.
If the game didn't happen, who would notice?

I'm not sure what I'm disgusted by more right now, the conference or the city.

In one of the articles this morning, it talks about how all the area merchants are praying UConn marches to a championship.

I have tickets to all games today. I am typing this from my living room, though. Shame on me for not being there!

What did you expect? I don't know anyone hardcore enough to take off from work, on a Thursday, for a meaningless game against 2 crappy non-local teams, anywhere. Hartford or not.

1) Gee. I know plenty of people who'd take a train to Madison Square Garden and pay a lot of money for a ticket and beer to the Thursday Big East afternoon games, regardless of who played.
2) I just heard that an area near me at work got a skybox for today/tonight and they're having trouble getting anyone to go. For free. With beer and food.

And those (1st session Wed afternoon) Old Big East games were not attended well either. So, not surprised by this turnout in Hartford for this matchup.

Bright Side #1: Easier to get picked to stand next to Erica and do the Subway Shuffle.

1) Neither of these teams would have been within about 20 pts of even the worst BE teams. I won't even comment on MSG vs the XL.
2) Quit.

I was disappointed when Hartford got the bid for this exact reason. No good could have come from this, short of having a P5 bid in hand.

No one should be surprised that UCF and ECU fans are not packing the stadium for this game, or that locals did not show up for it.
