Let's hope the Athletic doesn't do a big write up this week on why Mora should be coaching in the P5...lol.
This is where I don't like writers conjuring up what if articles....when it hits home... unfortunately, we gotta take the good with the bad.

I don't see Mora going anywhere after this season. We repeat what we've done this year next season, with a few more wins than what we end up this year, he's probably gone, but I think Charlton takes over here, and we keep moving forward with our program back on track to decency.
One thing about Mora, though, that's hard to replicate. His charisma...and he's damn good at getting folks to buy in. Hard to beat a resume like his though. Hopefully Charlton's taking notes....

He can’t go anywhere especially after the recruits he’s signed already, and coming off this season any hint of leaving would stop the recruiting train dead in its tracks. He’s here for at least three years, and if he likes it here, maybe a lot longer. If he buys a vacation home in Maine or New Hampshire, you know he’s hanging around. Lol

If UConn invests the necessary money into football, then he stays. It's as simple as that. He doesn't want a ceiling of 8 or 9 wins with assistant coaches constantly leaving to make more money at other schools.

  • 5 year deal expires on December 31st, 2027
  • $500,000 base salary + $500,000 via Athletic Foundation funds = $1,000,000 annual salary
  • Assistant + S&C pool = $1,625,000 per year

  • Support Staff (without benefits) = $124,500

And I’m sure Biff is putting up some of his own money like the millions he invested in St Frances Academy

Losing to Army had a little silver lining. If he ran the table with 5 out of 6, there would have been even more eyes following. Losing to a 1 FBS win program took a little wind out of his sails and dashed COY talk.

Not that I enjoy the outcome since the loss was disappointing but I agree with you.

Mora got fired for going 6 and 6 last job I believe.
Here at UConn goes 6 and 6 and some chatter about being considered for COTY.
INTERESTING STUFF.
Most coaches fired know FB and how to coach. Allot has to do with $$$$, Booster involvement, 4 and 5 star athletes recruited,
and fan involvement.
There are other factors but, being a head coach today is allot like balancing on the head of a pin.
Coach Mora knows how to pull all the strings.
Go Huskies!

Need to keep an eye out for DC candidates from these firings that Mora may have a coaching history with. It is pretty clear that Spanos is not coming back as Mora scrapped the Spanos system. The DC is hopefully the only coaching spot that UConn will have to fill in the off season.

Are any of the current D-staff worth the promotion?
