The total attendance for the 1st Two rounds (not counting the first 4 in) was 292,456! Last year it was 240,589 so an increase of 51,867 fans. In 2022 the 1st Two rounds saw 216,890 fans.

There were 11 identical sites in 2024 to 2023 and these 11 sites had an increase of 30,207 led by ND who had 8,516 more fans attend (17,031 vs. 8,515). Texas had an increase of 6,895 over 2023, LSU as 6,873 and SC had 5,411. Interestingly Iowa had a slight decrease due to limiting capacity as last year they allow 14,382 but this year only 14,324.

Interested in Los Angeles. What are the yearly increases for UCLA? Odd that first day drew more than second days! I guess it has been a while since SoCal has hosted.

When did UCLA start drawing fans? Is that number a lot higher than their season average?

USC seems to have really turned it on due to Juju.

First day was on the weekend, 2nd on a Monday night for 1/2 the bracket.
Saturday had 1,000+ Cal Baptist fans from nearby Riverside bus in to Pauley Pavilion for the game. Monday game tipoff at 5:30PM in Los Angeles vs 7:00PM tipoff for USC.

Several posters on the Bruin Online site remarked the crowd noise during the third quarter comeback against Creighton was the loudest they could remember at a home game, men or women. It was very loud. During the postgame presser Lauren Betts said at times during the run she couldn’t hear the play Kiki Rice called out.

Interesting regarding Iowa's numbers decreased due to capacity size. I wonder if NCAA protocol changed regarding seat allotment for media/officials/other teams scouting their opponent/etc.

Disappointed in Indiana's numbers. Hardly anyone in the balconies after being sold out last year I believe. Heck, their home game vs Iowa this year sold out on a Thursday night. Indiana fans insisted it was due to the passion of their fanbase as opposed to the hype train around Iowa's #22. But that was proven false.

Curious what a evening start for South Carolina's Friday game would have meant for attendance.

Hard not to notice NC State bringing up the rear with their small gym :D
We're a small but lively crowd! Attendance for the game yesterday was likely hurt by being at 4 pm on a Monday...when parking on campus is difficult. As it was, maximum is 5500 so we had a high percentage of seats taken.

NCAA did no favors to USC and UCLA by scheduling both schools on Sat/Mon instead of splitting the games to Fri/Sun and Sat/Mon. This gave fans a choice pick one, not both. Not a way to promote the WBB game, IMO.
The USC attendance is amazing. USC averaged just over 1K fans a game in 22/23 season, regular season as they didn't host in 22/23. This year they are averaging over 4K fans. Same school, same location(that many dont like). Something changed, named JuJu.

Put out a good product and the people will come...and they'll come back if given a reason to.

Just curious, how many Angelenos are fans of both schools? The fact that the crowd at the USC game booed when the scoreboard showed UCLA winning tells me a little something about that anyway.

UCLA had 16,751 last year but it was heavily skewed as the opening game was 3,872 but the Round 2 game was against their cross town rival USC and drew 12,870 so the year over year difference was -71.

For the season, UCLA averaged 4,643 while USC average 3,856

Full update to the TV Viewership will come later this morning but Iowa had over three million Saturday and just under 5 million viewers Monday for a total of 8 million in two games.

Nobody else close though there were several over a million
