In the last 25 years? (Has to be at least 50 attempts taken in the last 10 seconds).

Rudy and Ray are probably the only two that fit those criteria.

Rudy's release in such a situation is above the rim. How do you defend that?

I’ve written many times about how Rudy possessed the perfect combination of physicality and skills to make a great basketball player. I will be thrilled to add clutch to that his attributes .

I wear my Rudy Gay Connecticut throwback jersey 2X per week. Really an under appreciated Husky from the mid-2000s because his teams didn’t fulfill their potential.

On a side note (I live in Nashville), I ran into a guy at a bar last weekend while wearing it and he is best friends with Josh Boone’s dad and plays XBox live with Josh a lot. Lol he saw my jersey and wanted to tell me that…

For a helluva player, Rudy's been unlucky; he's 36 and only made the playoffs three times, once with Memphis (lost in first round to Clippers) and twice with San Antonio (lost in first round to Warriors and Portland).

I think Rudy is a very underrated NBA player all time. He didn't have any playoff success which is why everyone forgets about him but he had multiple 20+ PPG seasons and was a straight up bucket. Even now, he's still getting NBA minutes in year 17. He's #86 on the NBA's top regular season scorers. For reference, Kemba is #167.

Talent-wise, Rudy is amongst the best to ever wear a UConn jersey. I’ve long said that he might’ve been the most talented UConn player I ever saw. His accomplishments never fully matched his talents — which is saying something, given he had his share of successes at UConn and in the NBA.

The 06 UConn team underachieved, despite a still fantastic season. And his teams generally didn’t do very well in the NBA.

Outstanding talent, great guy who has represented the university well. But he was happy to be very good, without a burning desire to be great.

Rudy should have got his Final Four shot. With a ring, he’s one of the greatest of all time at UCONN
