...so for tonight's NC State vs. Georgia Tech, do we, as UConn fans have to root for the Wramblin Wreck?

When the Committee is looking at a team's W-L record against ranked opponents, do they rely on the ranking on Game Day or the ranking at the time of the selection process?

NC State beats GA Tech 59-48. GA Tech outscored the Wolfpack 19-10 to make the game appear closer than it was.

It's not even framed as a record against "ranked" opponents, a term that typically refers to the top 25 polls (AP or coaches), which are not considered by the committee.

The significance of a win or loss is always judged based on a team's standing as of selection day. The only caveat might be if they take into account availability of personnel at the time a game was played. For example, South Carolina's win over UConn with Paige should be more valuable than other teams' wins over UConn without Paige.

The NC State - Georgia Tech match up was interesting.

I don't know if it was GT's defence or if Cunane had a rough night as she didn't score until the 3rd. Perez's play last night was fun to watch. It's unfortunate she missed that lay up that Cunane set her up for. How Cunane didn't turn it over and found Perez, I don't know.

GCU take on Utah Valley on the 10th with a 6pm MST tip.

Lopes look to hold on to second in the WAC and a 1 game lead over @ochoopsfan's Lancers. (Looks like SFA has regular season sewed up with an 11 game win streak and the probability of winning out to enter the conference tournament 27-3. Are they a lock for the dance?)

Stanford hammered Oregon St. 82-59. No surprise there. 3 in double figures off the bench for the Furd (Jump, Belibi and Iriafen), they combined for 45. Nice luxury to have when your subs are better than the other teams starters.

2) Baylor has very quietly righted the ship. Pounding KSt tonight. They could be a dangerous team.

It honestly depends which Jordan Lewis and Queen Egbo show up. Smith is dominant every night and Andrews can ball. Its a senior heavy team so no reason why they can't have a good post season run given the experience and talent. Kansas St is a good team but they are very very mediocre once you move outside of Lee, their starting PG left the game with an injury just minutes into the game I believe and Lee was mentally not in control, she had 3 fouls in the first half and got called for a tech.

Texas just gets by Texas Tech on the road tonight. That game was something, I caught two players getting close lined in back to back plays. I thought it was WWE at one point.

Baylor will need OU to slip up, they play Iowa St again at their place later on so that will be a pivotal game for a Big 12 title.

Agree, they have looked like the Baylor team of old lately. Baylor will be relevant in the Big Dance.

Virginia at Louisville tonight is cancelled. Virginia had travel issues. The game will be counted as a forfeit.

I was looking forward to seeing Mir play. Plus, it was a "Pink Out" for breast cancer. My mother, sister and wife were/are all breast cancer survivors.

Ok, I don't understand this, except that some people might want to "help" one of the two ACC #1 seed. We had to cancel, which counted as nothing, a game with Butler last week due to travel issues. Why wasn't it a forfeit too? Where is the equity?????

UVA had problem last night with their charter aircraft Apparently, they could have made it here today but opted not to do that. That might be the reason for the forfeit.

Believe me, nobody here in Louisville would believe that the ACC would help us. Lots of Tobacco Road paranoia here. And I can't believe that this forfeit will have any impact at all on the national scene.

Thanks. After I posted, I saw the UVA situation during halftime of the NC State/BC game. I guess that it is a long established tradition that cancelations due to the weather will be treated as just a cancelation with no impact on either school's record.

Nicholls suffered a devastating 78-76 loss in OT to Incarnate Word. It has been a miserable season for Nicholls, which falls to 2-14 on the season.

I apologize. I started my posts in this thread wondering why it (UVA/Louisville) was a forfeit and not a cancelation or postponement, like it was for our Butler game. I thought at that time that the UVA/Louisville issue was a weather-related issue, which it was not. So now I know why it was a forfeit.
