Dear Boneyard,
I learned that using the Ecosia search engine will help plant trees around the world. It uses the Bing search engine which is a Microsoft product. 80% of the profits are directed to tree planting including in the USA.
I don't plan on using it all of the time, but sometimes it doesn't matter which search engine is used. Every tree planted helps.
I'm just saving the link to my browser start up page and clicked to save only the essential cookies, and it will keep track of how many trees that my searches have helped to plant.
Ecosia is located in Berlin, Germany, and if Microsoft is willing to donate some of its Bing profits to Ecosia then I want to join in & help out.
20 million other people are doing it too.
Folks can also use Ecosia with their phone browsers.
Using it doesn't need to be a preference or default in your browser settings.
I'm just going to click on the search page manually when I want to use it.
It can be saved in your bookmarked pages or displayed on your browser startup page depending on your browser.
Thanks for reading about using the Ecosia search engine.
There's more info. on the Ecosia website.
It's a good cause.
And thanks to Microsoft for helping out the world by sharing profits.
