URI and Hurricane Florence

I hope this new thread doesn't have legs....

but the current GFS 10 day weather model has Florence landing in the NY/NJ/ CT area on Thursday night/Friday morning just ahead of our planned Saturday the 15th game with URI.

Obviously much can happen between now and then, but the models have been toying with a mid atlantic arrival for several runs now.

My wife’s old job afforded her access to the greatest meteorologists I’ve ever seen. Their models were sublime.

I miss the inside weather word.

The local Weather blogger here in Jersey (he's a HS teacher) has been talking about Florence for over a week now as a potential threat to the area. He called Irene and Sandy right and had Florence going major hurricanes status before all of the networks. I pay attention to him.

FWIW you typically don’t see tropical storms on forecasts a week out. Usually once the track is clearer (3 days) you will see it.
