agreed. we were also just coming out of the wilderness of three losing seasons, and his play and enthusiasm was so thrilling to watch to start that season. plus, of all of these injuries, achilles is by far the scariest.IMO it’s Akok for 2 reasons.
1) besides Bouk (and Bouks was never a career ending type injury) he had the most pro potential of anyone listed above
2) he would have been a key piece to last years potential tournament run and has been a non-factor so far on this years team (and now with Sanogo out we really could use him playing to his pre-injury potential)
The answer is Jerome Dyson and it's not close. I know it's just outside the 10 year window but it still stings to this day.
I was going to say the same. That injury was worse than all of the aforementioned combined. Cost us a championship - none of these injuries listed cost us anything...we weren't winning squat to begin with. Also, his name is Andre Dyson around here. The answer is Jerome Dyson and it's not close. I know it's just outside the 10 year window but it still stings to this day.
I voted Akok, but this is my second choice. We were actually playing well that season (beat Oregon, playing MSU close) until AG got hurt. Having multiple surgeries on the same shoulder is brutal (I know from personal experience) and it obviously derailed Alterique's career.Went with Alterique’s second injury.
Felt so bad for him
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought that he had been playing hurt all year and only became unplayable after the surgery. After Omar Calhoun's freshman year, I thought he was going to be UConn's next great player. He lost so much mobility with that hip injury. He had the sweetest stroke on the pull-up. Very hard to guard.
I thought he was healthy until he started having hip issues. He didn't have the surgery until later, right? At some point in his sophomore year?Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought that he had been playing hurt all year and only became unplayable after the surgery.
Shea RalphDyson laps the field, your time machine thingy be damned.
Alteriques first one.
It changed everything.

Thats what I voted along with Akok. Didn't Alterique and Larrier get hurt the same season within a few games of each other? Not for nothing, but this is a depressing thread. For the most part, we had pretty good luck with injuries as a program up until the Dyson Injury in 2009. Then, we were good for a few years after that, but since like 2016, we have major injures like every season. Thats really demoralizing.Alteriques first one.

I voted Sanogo as the injury that upsets me most is the latest.HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?
