How long do these games normally last? I have tickets for Friday but only really want to go for game 2.

Christian Fedko got some sort of injury late in the game, so he had to come out in favor of Hague. Coach Penders hoping Fedko will be able to play tomorrow, but we will see about that.

Some good words on Will Lucas as well. Apparently his last appearance in an inter squad game this week was better than he had been doing previously, and his velocity is getting better as well. You never know, but perhaps this appearance might open the door for another Will Lucas game sighting in the coming days.

Three hours for a 9 inning game is about the norm for UConn games, but UConn has had some 9 inning games go around 4 hours this season. You just never know.

The first game of the doubleheader tomorrow is 7 innings. Second game is 9 innings.

If Creighton loses just one of four to Xavier, UConn has the league regular season championship destiny in its own hands. Should we sweep the remaining three from Seton Hall, we will finish 13-4 (.7647). Should Creighton take only three of four from Xavier, they will finish 16-5 (.7619). As I write this Xavier leads Creighton 3-1, top of the 7th.

Game Notes
  • Reggie Crawford recorded his team-leading 14th multi-RBI game of the season.
  • The Huskies hit a season-high five home runs on Thursday. The last time the Huskies hit five home runs was in 2010 when the Huskies hit five against UMass on April 7.
  • UConn has hit 54 home runs this season, the most they have hit in a year since hitting 83 in 2010.
  • The Huskies are 13-1 at Elliot Ballpark this season.
  • Eight of the nine starters scored at least one run on Thursday

Sat 2 rows behind the left handed hitters batters box. Kyler looks like he isn't squaring the ball up and he goes yard and to the track. His power is better than you think. Brown's shot was as a perfect barrel as you will see. The other homers you knew on the swing. Pat Winkel looks like he is back and CFed had a good walk where he stayed he didn't expand the strike zone on himself and on that next at bat, hit the rope.

Petersen and Haus both averaged about 88 on the heater - Lucas around 83. Peterson and Haus also have good hooks. The Seton Hall starter sat at 91 and a good hook. Their bullpen got lit up so hopefully that is the formula moving forward against them. Get the starters out of there and work on their bullpen.

After having my season tickets cancelled last year, it was my first opportunity to make it out to Elliot For a game. That was a lot of fun. Got to talk to some knowledgeable folks last night so it was a really good 3 hours.

Disappointed in the lack of turnout- hopefully there will be more people out today. This team deserves a good crowd and especially on senior day. I will make my way over once I get my work out of the way.

No CFed in first game...

In the postgame interview last night, Coach Penders indicated Christian Fedko had tweaked something late in the game. I wonder when the last time David Langer played second base, this could be interesting.
