I think the Duke game will be an inspired one. We're probably still not quite there to take most or all of these, but even 1 would be a step in the right direction, for me.

Haters can put the asterisk on our UNC win from last year, given the state of UNC's affairs and their disinterest in the game. But you can't put an asterisk on a regular season game. Hope we pull it off!

we're either gonna get a whipped Syracuse or a chip on their shoulder take out Tennessee's sins on UConn Cuse. I don't think we get them on an even keel. We could get that one. I think we can get BC. Duke is a potential ACC champion this year. I think we eek out a close one against them 77-74 final.

We have a legit shot to win all of these games. I want to go with what I’m used to and say we win either 0 or 1, but that doesn’t fit the narrative I have in my head for how this season should go. I’m going to say we win 2 or 3 and we have the season we’ve all been dying for. Let’s just run over everyone with our stable of good running backs and keep them off balance with Joe and Skylar leading the way through the air. Lots of weapons running and receiving and a very experienced QB on this team. This is the year.

I'm sure we'll get 1, good feelings about possibility for 2.

Another thread/poll, how many of the G games will we win? Feel like there is a good chance for a WTF loss. I'd trade a WTF G loss for 2 ACC wins.

Wow, 2 weeks from tomorrow we use live ammunition!! Sept 6 will be here before we know it.

3 wins.
  1. We play Syracuse early in the season, 9/6. We will be coming off of a big win in the CCSU game. Mora will have them ready for the first big test of the season. We win, 24-21.
  2. We travel to BC on 10/18. UConn fans will crash on Chestnut Hill like a tidal wave of National Flag blue. We win, 31-14.
  3. Duke visits the Rent on 11/8. We give them payback for last year - and all of the many offenses committed by Duke alums (if you know someone who went to Duke, you know what I mean). We win, 34-7.

My head said one win, but my heart said two. Uncharacteristically I went with my heart. On the two steps forward and one step back theory of rooting for a school subject to Rule #1, I am probably due to be sadly disappointed. But I figured it was time to risk the heart.

Gotta think that if anyone on the coaching staff sees this thread they will chuckle. The overall win-loss record is not so important. What the fans really want now is wins over the ACC. That is a whole lot different proposition than a couple years ago and represents progress for the program. And a much greater possibility for disappointment. The bar is a whole lot higher now.

No clue but I like how the schedule shakes out:

1. Cuse will lose to Tennessee and will have big pressure to beat us especially if we go up early.

2. Bye week before BC

3. Duke at the rent. Maybe it’ll be a little chilly/rainy and throw them off?
Both BC and Duke I think play Clemson the week before us and I think brings about the same mentality as Cuse coming off the Tennessee week. I think all 3 are coming into their games against us motivated to atone for prior week.

Told my wife to get ready for a 11-0 road trip to FAU. Only 823 miles, my 2007 Honda Pilot will get us there (old Honda's last forever).
It's like 600 miles for me, but tell ya what, if we're undefeated going into that game I just might make the trip as well.

I want both

I think they all have tough games following us - a good trap game set up.
